We usually don't, but this year we decided to only give our parents gifts.  Money is tight for a lot of my family, so we're just going to enjoy spending time together.

We set a general limit of what we want to spend but always go over it.

WE DON'T HAVE A CHOICE BUT TO STICK TO THE BUDGET.  My husband was disabled a couple of years ago, so we are doing everything we can to keep our home.  I lost my job because of the time I needed to take care of him and my daughter and aunt who were all in the same accident, my mother-in-law was killed in the accident.  My Mother-in-Law and Aunt had rented rooms from us which helped with the house payments, so we lost not just my husbands income, but rental income too.    I laugh sometimes at the people who talk about the deadbeats taking government funds.  I worked and so did my husband and other family members, and because of a horrible accident people act like we want to be on government aide.     Anyway down off of my soap box~  LOL     We have budgets for everything we do. I am the coupon queen, nothing comes in our home without it being on a very big sale and or with coupons for it.   My husband just got to where he can work part time at a job that pays about 20% of his former wages.  So that is helping, I work about 5 different part time jobs now, so we are making a little headway.    Until this happened to us, I always thought "why don't people plan better".  We had insurance and everything, but it just doesn't cover everything.    We do lots of family activites and things that don't cost money, just time.   That helps a lot.

We don't even have a budget for it. We are so broke, there is usually no money left over for anything after bills. Plus, I have been trying to get a job in allied health for about 3 years now, with no success, so we only think of our daughter. And to top it off, my birthday is on christmas day!

Normally we do not have limits.  This year however, we are only spending $15-$20 per person.

not really....i mean of course i'm not going to spend a thousand bucks a person but i usually just think of a gift that a particular would "need" and then go buy it. never really make limits but i don't overspend anyway.

to the lady in red about her post you should get coupons from ebay  they have free cpns offers for a bucnch of stuff and yes i use cpns all the time.as far as a budget i try and stick to it but it's hard i will buy all my wrapping paper from the 99cent store and try and get what people need more than things they really don't need.will have fun shoppinfg for my grandbaby who is only 14 months he will be the easiest to shop for.
