I just love the look and smell of a real tree but hate the pine needles that get stuck in the carpet or ur socks, its really messy.

I used to get a real tree every year, but I got a real tree about 10 years ago for convienence and to keep costs down.  I miss the smell, but not the mess.   Now I just pick up several branches at the grocery store when they are putting them out  - and that is enough to give the house the christmas smell.

I like artificial trees because you can save them for the years to come. Seems like it saves more money plus the real trees make a mess and you have to have enough room for them. I can understand wanting a real one though too. They both have positives and negatives. Our tree is white and was twenty dollars.

It really does not matter which one you choose, it is what you can get at the time. I would choose both of them because with the real one you can smell the realness of the tree... and the artificial tree you can use it how many times you want. I never had a real tree, it was only artificial.

I have never had a real tree so I am not familiar with the scent...I have had fake trees green ones and white ones and love decorating them with my family.

Growing up Mom and Dad always had a fake tree.  It was bulky, awkward and a major pain for my father to dig out.  One year my Mom took off for Europe with a girlfriend of hers the day before Thanksgiving.  So Dad and I took it upon ourselves to through out 2 of her antique chairs that were up against the wall in the family room...one of her projects waiting to be reupholstered.  We went out to dinner for Thanksgiving, bought a real tree put it up and decorated it...it was awesome.  We were so proud of making this giant leap of decor.  3 days into Ma's trip she felt guilty for having left her family during the holidays and came home.  BOY was she HOT when she saw what we had done...the following years after we went back to the old fake tree.  Once on my own I bought my own tree.  It was purple (SO COOL) I put it up one year.  Than my husband and I met.  We used his white tree and when we moved out of the apartment we blended our families in we left the purple tree behind.  So this year- Real tree it is!

Neither, because our apartment kinda sucks. It's too small for a tree, but it would be nice!

artificial...they're usually cheaper and they last longer and can be stored..

Had an artificial white tree for two years now but i think it's time for a new one.

I like artificial Christmas trees a lot better because it is less of a mess. Real Christmas trees leave such a mess everywhere you put them. Also, you can reuse that tree over and over again unless it breaks somehow. Artificial trees also are easier to hang ornaments. I would find that my ornaments would fall off easier on a Christmas tree.

I have bought both over the past several years. I like the smell of the fresh cut tree, but never liked the mess. Of course, the artificial trees can be just as messy.

A real pine Christmas tree because they smell so fresh and woodsy is the best. I do like cut Christmas trees. I like to see them alive in the fields.

We always had a real tree when I was growing up, my dad would go in the woods and find one  (sometimes kind of scrawny) but we would decorate it and make it look wonderful!  We didn't dare cut down one of the blue spruce though!
