I was in the process of making stuffing and decided to let my broth boil before I added my stuffing mixture. So I walked to the stove with mixture in hand and there is no pot or broth.

Well my dear roommate thought it was dirty water from the macaroni she had made earlier.
All I could say was WOW!!!!  With all the cooking that has to be done, who have time to boil dirty water. Go figure that...

My 14 year old and I made an amazing Thanksgiving dinner.  It was her first time really getting involved.  Really there wasn't anything that went wrong...our pumpkin pie was a little bland (made it sugar free though so we didn't expect much)  I was going at this lesson in the kitchen like I knew what to do every step of the way.  When in doubt improvise right.  We were pulling the neck and giblets out in preparing the bird and couldn't find the giblets.  Than while cleaning up meat that hadn't been carved my daughter hollers out...I think I found the giblets.  Butterball had stuck them safely up in there in a Heat resistant bag.  No biggie but one of those things we spent 15 - 20 minutes on trying to find the stinken' thing before we put our spice rub on it.

I was making dinner rolls.

The recipe called for 10 T of melted butter. blah bla blah.
I couldn't figure out why i had to keep adding so much flour to the mixer, just to get it to form into the propper dough consistency.

2T was supposed to be reserved to brush onto the rolls before they went into the oven.

They came out fine....still..Its a rookie error that is rather stupid.

My other issue was a dessert. I was supposed to have 8 Fuji apples. I only had 31/2. And no puff Pastry. Had to make pie crust and That is supposed to cool in the refridgerator for 1 hour. It only cooled for 55 minutes. Also the caramel that I made was for the recipe with 8 apples and I forgot to 1/2 the usage. The results were a little less than gourmet in appearance. The taste was extreme!

I intened to have my stuffing come out a s aloaf that was to be sliced. Some of it stuck. It was good tasting, but, the appearance was 3 out of 5.

I made Rosemary roasted pork loin. Had a few spears of rosemary left over....Decided to make a garnish where you take fresh mozzerellla and roma tomatoes and stack the slices and then spear them with the rosemary. I seasoned them all up and put them in the fridge. I made 1 for my wife and me. My 3 year old made a huge fit that he didn't get a tree. Luckily I still had some scraps left over and was able to fashion one, on the fly! He wasn't real interested in eating his.
Rosemary roasted prok pizza tonight I guess.

I've had my mistakes in my younger days, but as we age our cooking does get better. I grow my own rosemary outside so i always have some.  I lost it one year we had temps down to 20 below for 3 days. Oh it was cold for us. Usually it will get done to 0 once or twice a year. So had to replant and the shurbs are looking good. My neighbors and postal are always getting some for cooking. Which is fine i told them to helpthemselves. What are neighbors for anyway. One of my neighbors has pecan trees and we always have plenty for the year. Yes i love the sharing.

My dad and I were cooking.  I looked down and their was blood all over the floor.  Apparently my dad had cut himself and didn't know it.  Gross.

The gravy turned into something resembling Jello--too much flour.  It took quite a bit of chicken broth to bring it back to standards.  The good news is--lots of gravy!

Well, I was making  casseroles and when i went to open a Mushroom can I cut my finger I'm glad it didn't bleed much.

I remember once we were spending the day at my sister-in-law's.  She made the Turkey.  Don't know how she managed it but, it fell out of the oven, LOL.  Lucky for her her BF at the time was a chef and we all had a good day anyway.

Well this did not happen to myself but pertaining to my dear sweet sister. She had started cooking her turkey along with other things really early Thursday morning, well she felt tired after a while so to be safe and because she did not the turkey to burn she turned her oven off and went to get some sleep. She woke up back later on and turned the oven on to complete what she had started and guess what her OVEN STOPPED WORKING :angry7:!!! Anyways she ended up getting someone to fix it but not until the next day! She still had a great Thanksgiving because she had our house plus a few others that she was stooping by anyways.

I was frying a turkey breast for thanksgiving.  It wasn't exactly outside but I had measured beforehand to make sure the oil didn't overflow when I put the turkey in.  However, it did overflow and a fire stated.  but I was able to stay calm and remember what it takes to put out a grease fire and all turned out well.  we still had a delicious fried turkey breast for Thanksgiving.
