It depends on what i am cooking. I keep all of my oils in the frige, because of using different one and i don't want them to spoil. nothing taste worse then an oil that has been sitting in a cupboard for months. yuk.

Someone told me coconut oil is the best. The only problem is that some stores do not carry it. Olive oil is an excellent replacement for butter and margarine. Use it for cooking or as a bread spread.

I use mostly extra virgin olive oil.  However, I also keep sesame and canola oil on hand.  I bought grapeseed oil for a beef recipe--apparently it's good for cooking at high temperatures.  You can also use it on salads, but I haven't tried that yet.  I have used peanut oil before in stir fry recipes, but our store here doesn't carry it, so I don't have any of that in the cupboard at the moment.

What kind of cooking oil do you mainly use at home? I prefer to use extra virgin olive oil for salad and making raw spaghetti sauce and hummus. For aroma, I like to splash a little pure black toasted sesame oil to noodle soups and raw salads.

i used extra olive oil for salads and canola oil for frying.
