Addictions
« on: November 02, 2012, 09:06:39 pm »
Was watching this show about food addicts. I was a really bad food addict before having my daughter Ruby and even while I was pregnant. I trusted the Lord Jesus Christ as my personal Savior and He took that addiction away. He opened the door. I lost 100 pounds in one year. When I was pregnant with my youngest daughter Alicia I was on bed rest and would eat because I was bored. After having the baby God allowed me to see I was falling back into my addictions so I went back on the diet. Every day I think about who I was and the way I want to be. I am back to lossing weight and I work hard and pray. I have even considered putting a mirror on my refrigerater to remind me to do the right thing.
The reason why I am making this thread is to let all of you share your addiction stories in a polite way. Talk about the ups and down and the things that helped you along the way. If you are struggling with an addiction I and I am sure others are here to help. I hope someone takes advantage of this thread for a positive outcome.
Lord Jesus Christ is the only way for eternal salvation from sins. Jesus loves you.

No substantive evidence supporting such a faith-based, (no valid evidence), belief has been presented.  The religious belief itself is not evidence, it's a speciously-misleading superstitious attribution, (like attributing thunder to some 'thunder g-d/dess').  Such self-deceptive superstitions can and have lead to poor decisions.

One can lead a horse to water however, if one holds the horse's head under, that horse will drown.

There is no single program be it religious or otherwise, that works for everyone. Run from anyone who makes such a claim. I would not be alive had I not done just that. A simple internet search can, and for me did, reveal multiple alternatives. I was a 30 year failure of the largest self-help group (I won't name names) in the nation. I have now been sober 4 years without them.
