Though I have to say I’m shocked not so much that Jana Kramer’s Why ya wanna made the year end ACC chart but that it was the 8th biggest song for the year.  Who knew that was so popular?  I don’t think it even made the top ten in the weekly chart!

I was on YouTube and it just shocks me how mainstream radio doesn’t even scratch the surface of how many artists and genre music is out there.

I don’t get why Beyonce lip-syncing at the Inauguration is such a ‘controversy’.  Honestly she should have mentally known the words but seriously.  Anyone who has ever watched the Macy’s Day Parade knows lip-syncing is has become almost a part of live performances as dancing to a sweat.

My younger brother complained to me that while he understands that all performers that sing on the parade floats lip-sync why did James Taylor have to make it obvious he was lip-synicing.  I told him, ‘Cut James some slack. He isn’t used to lip-synicing.  After all he comes from a generation where lip-synicng was unheard of.  A live performance in that decade meant hearing songs sung live not just witnessing a singer dance around on stage to a light show and costume ball.

I couldn’t care less if Destiny’s child gets back together.  I only like Beyonce’s Single Ladies song (otherwise I am a Rihanna fan) and always felt Destiny’s Child was just a rip off of TLC.

I don’t get Ellie Goulding songs.  I’ve listened to them like a zillion times.  Even watched the videos with lyrics and I think her songs make no sense.  I can only come to the conclusion that they aren’t supposed to make sense, just be great songs to dance to.

I have yet to be impressed with a Justin Bieber song—though he does look better once he got his hair cut.

I haven’t liked a Kenny Chesney song since ‘Everybody wants to go to heaven.’

Have to be honest I didn’t really jump on the Little Big Town wagon when they first rolled around but I’m really lovin their stuff since their ‘Bones’ song.

Better dig two by The Band Perry seems to have stalled at number six on the Charts but I have to say I’ve liked all their songs except all of your life.

I’m not only glad to see Gary Allan back on the charts but his ‘Every storm (runs out of rain) is a really great inspirational song.

I have to say that while I do like Brad Paisley I am not a big fan of Southern Comfort Zone.

Taylor Swift seems like a sell out to me.  I mean as soon as she made a name for herself in country she jumped to making versions of her songs for the pop world and now with ‘I knew you were trouble’ that is more like punk rock than anything sounding even remotely country.  Guess she’s just a popularity girl rather than a true musican like Brad Paisley.  They went to him a few years back and asked him to make pop versions of his songs.  He flat out refused saying he’s country and he’ll always be.
