I hate Pop music. It seems like people are more interested in everything else that is going on with the artist but the actual music. Maybe it is because these bands, singers, groups or what ever you want to call them only have like 2 good songs and everything else they put out is pure crap. :angry7: :BangHead:

I love Nicki's music...not a lot of great music coming out as of recently.  I love Rihanna and the Foo Fighters.

I watched Miley Cyrus’ wrecking ball music video.  I have to say that she is trying too hard to break her Disney Hannah Montana personification.  i mean if you listen to the words themselves it’s a very powerful song and vocally she does a wonderful job which I doubt very few of her contemporary companions could do.  But the whole ‘get naked to sing on top of a wrecking ball’ thing just screams desperation to separate from being labeled a Disney Kid her whole life.  She even did a Robyn thing with her hair.  I have to say while it worked for Robyn it doesn't work for her.

Country Artist Lea Turner is like a cross between Jo Dee Messina and Jamie O’Neal.  In her Take the Keys song it sounds like either artist (though I’m favoring Jo Dee on this one) could have sung this ten years ago.

Just blown away by Jessie J’s It’s my party.  I think it’s her best song.  I usually am a fan of her music but only when it’s remixed.  It’s my party I just love the way it is.  She sings it with just the right attitude and in the music video her facial expressions are right on the mark.  This isn't a song just anyone can sing but it is definitely one Jessie J can and will for years to come.

I think Nicki Minaj is one of those artists you either love or hate.  I actually love her because she raps and sings.  Usually a singer sacrifices one for the other and because she can do both, and does both that’s what makes her different and why she is so popular.  I mean that’s why I like her so much.

I just stopped listening to her after "beez in the trap"
She was fine at first but now I just don't want to hear her voice.

Let’s talk music have to say that Jennifer Nettles on her own with That Girl I don’t like.  I am a huge fan of Sugarland but on her own it’s more of a pop or Soul type sound.  But then Incredable Machine wasn’t all that much of a country sound either.  I wish she would go back to Sugarland.

It is nice to see Sara Evans back on the chart.  To me she’s one of the ‘old timers’ now before the whole internet and text message craze.

Miranda Lambert does an incredible acting job in Mama’s broke heart.  Somebody should get her a movie roll.

I have to say I don’t like Carrie Underwood with Brad Pasely as hosts of the CMA’s.  I wish they had someone better.  It’s why I like the AMC’s.  It’s Reba!

I watched Brad Paisley’s Old Alabama video and I loved the end where Jeff Gordon tells the cop that Brad is him so Brad gets stuck with the speeding ticket.

Single biggest concern I have about music, is it's ability to bypass the mind and enter the heart directly. This communicates from musician, to hearer, a frightening amount of influence/impression/appetite/ etc.

Just heard Jo Dee Messina’s new song Peace Sign.  I loved it.  And I’m so glad she’s back.  She’s from the old school before all these fad artists showed up.  Her popularity wasn’t from digital downloads or YouTube videos.  She earned her strips the hard way and her voice is one of those distinct sounds that you know it’s her from the first note she sings.  Welcome Back JoDee!
