Forum post monthly count
« on: October 29, 2012, 02:51:36 pm »
My first forum topic :)

I'm sure I've read it somewhere but can't for the life of me find the info again! Is there somewhere that gives me a count of how many posts I have made this month? If so how do I find it?

Hopefully my next forum topic will be a little more exciting!

Just under your posting name/'nym, to the left of your screen, you'll see a running total of your post count.  Not all of those will be 'qualifying posts' as far as the monthly bonus goes but, constitute a raw subtotal number.

Ok, so with this being a running total, is this a total of all my posts? So I'd have to keep track of what I started at and ended at each month?

It's a running subtotal of all of your posts, rather than a monthly total.  Your monthly subtotal/total posts are available by going to the main FC page, looking to the left of your screen under "Forum Posting Bonus".

You're welcome, "Keely".  Remember that you're the one who selects which three substantive of at least 30 posts to submit to qualify for the monthly $3 forum posting bonus.

It never ceases to amaze me what new feature I can learn from this forum.  I have never even noticed the "forum posting bonus" link on the Account page.  It's so nice to know it's there.  I always went to the top of the forum screen, clicked "paid to post", then clicked "forum bonus request form," then found the count on THAT page.  You end up in the same place, it just takes extra steps.  Now I know!  It pays to read the forum!!

I found this out on another thread. I guess I don't really pay attention to that part of the account page much. Admin said it was another new feature though. That made me feel better......rather than completely not noticing something like that.

Oh, good, kingreyam24, thanks for posting that.  I feel as you do, knowing that it's a new feature.  I felt really negligent, that I hadn't noticed it before.  Now I have an explanation.

Yes if you click on the paid to post and then go to the form to get the bonus, it will tell you how many eligible posts you have for the month.

Not quite; that will list potentially-eligble posts however, after three posts are submitted for the bonus, FC staff decides whether or not those are eligible/qualify for the posting bonus.

You just need to make sure that your post will either help someone or add to the subject that you respond to or that you create a good topic to discuss.  So far I have been very lucky and got approved for both months of posting.  I like the posting as everyone is willing to help, especially newbie's.  They certainly did me. :notworthy:

If you want even fewer steps, go to that page and bookmark it on your Bookmarks Toolbar (Firefox) and you can get there in one click.

It is always good to p0ost more than the 30 just encase one does not qualify. I always end up with around 40 each month because I like to read different post and post on what I read.
