I've done a lot of comparisons and it seems in the long run that many of the "bundles" offered by satellites and cable are very similar in the end if you get the same types of services...

I have dish but only because I hate our cable company.  They keep jacking the prices.  Any time the wind blows or it storms our dish gets fuzzy.

Anti Dish and cable here.  We have an old fashioned antenna.  We get bout' 40 channels through an HDTV.  We need to get a convertor so the kids can watch shows...at least prime time tv like in the old days would be good for them.  Hubby get's his football and I get my PBS documentaries so it's perfect for us.  We do have a magic jack and it is definitely a big money saver.  It's connected through our desktops so it only works when we're online.  Good thing for us someone in our family is always online.

We have Directv at our house. I love having all the channels that we had to pay cable for.

Either one is fine to have but I prefer to have cable because it is cheaper and plus you have the same tv networks as dish.

I feel your pain with the cable crap.  But my Grandma had dish and that was crap too.  Every time it was overcast she didn't get any reception or it would go down halfway through the movie.  Whatever, no way to win I don't think but good luck with finding a solution.

I prefer cable because I don't want any weather interference when I'm watching TV.
