I had digital cable TV for many years.  I finally cut the cord about a month ago and now I don't care about TV.  I telecommute and am on the computer all the time (with cable connection) and I find it hard to justify the extra $70 when I could watch most of the same shows on line for nothing, but now I don't even care to do that.

I have Digital Cable.  Digital Cable is better than Dish.  Dish goes out during bad weather.  I don't have that problem with Digital Cable.

We have cable but they keep raising their rates every other month.  Google fiber is in the neighborhood but not here yet.  I expect we'll switch when we can.

I have Dish and absolutely hate the service! If we have 5mph winds the satelite goes out! If it sprinkles the satelite goes out!  :bs: I DO NOT recommend Dish.

Dish sucks most apartments don't let you have it and the satellite sucks with bad weather and you have to struggle to put it up or fix it if it falls. Att is terrible!!!!! When I lived with my mom I asked to add internet to our phone service and they shut off my mom's phone and then sent out someone a week later to hook up the internet and the phone back up. Well, the guy said, "Sorry I can't figure out how to do it so I'll send someone out tomorrow". Some came out a couple days later and said basically the same thing.  :BangHead: So, I gave up and called to asked to cancel it, they were friendly enough said that was fine and that they'd cancel it immediately. I thought that was that until I got a $200 bill for installation and a month of service so I called again and again they said the same thing. Again, a month later I got a bill with another months service and late fees. I did the same thing the next month with the same results. They eventually "shut off the service" that I never had for lack of payment. It was a joke then I had to write a letter to the bill collector that was sending me bills for $500! The moral of the story don't get att lol.

I have the triple bundle through CenturyLink.  This includes phone, internet and dish network.

Thanks for all your responses. I guess I will go with cable for my area, afraid with rain, wind snow, dish may not be as good, plus will keep my phone and internet on same system. But I think I will call them and see what I can cut down on. All I want is Basic, I think I am getting more than that.

I have had both, I like Dish better but, then I've been lucky. My bill never rose above $50 a month but did not have any extra's. I had real dependablility with Direct TV also, my daughter says that she looses it often (rain or snow and even somethimes cloud cover), I did not seem to have problems with direct TV prior to 2005 when I had it. I now have cable, Live in rural area with many trees, can not even get line of sight for reception so I am stuck with cable. I hear about the complaints with price increases. I have had cable since 2005 and it started at about $75/Basic cable and modem service, now it is up to about $114 with no addition to cable package, that's about a 50 percent increase since I started. I can't complain about reliability. I've only lost it about 4 times in 7 years and never for more than a couple of hours.
