My DirecTv does go out if we have a heavy rain.  Otherwise it's fine except sometimes in the afternoon on very hot days it will go out but hasn't done that recently.  I do think DirecTv is expensive though and I don't even subscribe to HBO, Showtime etc. nor do I get many extras.

I get my cable from comcast and they have a good selection of tv shows if you ask me. I live in a apartment building with older and disabled people as my neighbors. I heard that comcast made a deal where we all get cable tv for a cheap price. I believe I pay like $25 and put that with my rent every month. Anyways, I don't have any problems with my cable tv :)

::) I had comcast which I had no choice because of the apartments I stay at after my special end with them I was not going to pay $150 a month for cable and internet but I prefer u-verse and direct tv.

Cable isn't available in my area (it's private and heavily wooded) so my mom had to go with the dish.  It goes out sometimes, and we had to replace the box not long ago.  If it were just up to me I could get by with just streaming on the internet.  I have recently discovered the Wonderful World of Hulu, and I also rent DVDs.  Which works for me.

Upset with my local area cable company. Prices keep going up, billing is late, we pay by checking on line, and are paid to date, but there bill does not show credit. Then we found they were charging us for a "fast internet" blah blah, which we did not order. Had to go through get that off, and credit back etc, and our internet is just fine without there what ever they call faster sh....t. But, Now looking to go with Magic Jack for the phone and either Dish or Direct. Only I wonder how good the internet service is. And what hidden charges will be there or will they start increasing charges here and there.

I just want one bill, that I know what it will be so I can budget the rest of my money on my limited income. Come on Corporations, make those that are below the middle class have a chance too.

And this is why I don't deal with either one. I don't have the money anyways and I much prefer watching movies I rent from Redbox or the dozens of movies I have in my collection at home! lol  ;)

I have had Dish Network before, and though there were a few things (at the time) that I liked about it, we weren't very impressed their product. We have DirecTv now and have had it for about 3 1/2 years. We're not all that impressed with their product either. They've been disappointing in pricing, changing things, dropping channels, and other things. Dish has some similar issues when we were customers with them. Some people love Dish while others love DirecTv and some people love their cable service. It really depends on your needs/wants. Though it sounds like you would have a better experience with either of these satellite companies versus your current experience with your cable provider.

We are moving, however, my hubby likes sports, all sports and with Dish he can pay EXTRA to get to watch ALL of the games he wants to see... I think I should get a like amount to do with what I want to do with???

I live in a metro area and have no need to pay for either cable or dish. I get 25 channels free of charge.
