I was curious about that myself so tried to keep a Journal of every single thing I buy and how much I spent every day

:( I know what you mean.  It seems like everything keeps going up and as much as I figure out to save a dollar I still seem to have trouble making ends meet.  It stinks to work as much as you are working, been there, done that.  Now my husband and I are both on disability and his medicine co-pays alone are bleeding us dry.  But I just keep plugging along trying to make some on the internet, shop as wisely as I can and pray the electricity and food bills don't keep going up.  Best of luck to you.

That sucks. I would not work that many hours unless I absolutely had to. I'm divorced but luckily can work only 40 hrs a week.

Gas is really hitting me hard.  I'm going to start writing everything down for awhile too.  I'm sure I'm really pissing away alot on small stuff.

I couldn't understand where my money went, so started doing a list (like some previous members). It is amazing to see how the money trickles away in little bits - milk and a loaf of bread here, gas there, an ice cream somewhere else....before you know it, you're w-a-y down on the money. The list is tedious, but it has been an eye-opener for me!!

Oh Jowbow, I know how that medical stuff can wipe you out.  I'm sorry they haven't found what the problem is.

I kept track of how much we were spending on everything a while back.  So we have put all of our credit cards in the freezer (By the time you thaw out the ice tray, you often have decided it is not worth it) and are paying cash only.   I have found if you find something you think you really need, sometimes if you wait 24 hours and think about it, it is NOT something you really need.  The 24 hour cooling off/thinking about it period has saved me a lot of cash.  Also if you are paying just cash or ATM it makes the money seem more real, and when it is gone it is gone!

I divorced both of my ex husbands because I got tired of feeling like I had 5 jobs.. I would work 10 hours a day then come home and have to work doing all the chores because my ex felt he was too good to do them.
Alot of men have the idea that women should work outside of the home then of course do all the domestic work too.
Or half of it, even though most men make more than half the mess. lol
I feel it is easier living alone than being married..I dont need that job anymore. I can easily date or get a boyfriend for companionship then send him home..I dont have to live with one to feel fulfilled.
