WHAT IS LOVE
« on: October 16, 2012, 12:58:32 pm »
Love is an emotion of a strong affection and personal attachment.[1] Love is also said to be a virtue representing all of human kindness, compassion, and affection —"the unselfish loyal and benevolent concern for the good of another".[2] Love may describe compassionate and affectionate actions towards other humans, one's self or animals. [3]

In English, love refers to a variety of different feelings, states, and attitudes, ranging from pleasure ("I loved that meal") to interpersonal attraction ("I love my partner"). "Love" may refer specifically to the passionate desire and intimacy of romantic love, to the sexual love of eros, to the emotional closeness of familial love, to the platonic love that defines friendship,[4] or to the profound oneness or devotion of religious love[5], or to a concept of love that encompasses all of those feelings. This diversity of uses and meanings, combined with the complexity of the feelings involved, makes love unusually difficult to consistently define, compared to other emotional states.

Love in its various forms acts as a major facilitator of interpersonal relationships and, owing to its central psychological importance, is one of the most common themes in the creative arts.[6]

Love may be understood as part of the survival instinct, a function to keep human beings together against menaces and to facilitate the continuation of the species.[7]

To put it in the simpliest term love is a choice.
ex: i choose to love you
I choose to marry you
I choose to stand by your side
That is what love is

To me, love is to give & not take. Sometimes one finds that they've fallen in love with someone but that someone doesn't feel the same way as you do. The worst thing that person could do is try make him/her love you the way you love them. Thinking that your love is so full that you know eventually, this person will return your love equally. Right?.....Wrong, no matter how much you love the person, you can't force them to love you back. If you really love the person enough, you'd let him/her go.Even if it's one sided, that's still love!

;) To me love is nothing when there is no money to spend, no place to live, no food to eat, no one to talk, no affections at all, no limitted expenses, no passion to follow, no time to rest, no clothes to wear, no taking even a care, no car to drive, no bus to ride, nothing is call a kindness, and no life to live, and finally worst in death. Life is not a bus trip, is a train go all the way until last stop, it depend on how long of the rail, said simply a rail but obtain all working hard and supply, depend on how many passengers, depend on the taxes and materials. "I choose you because I love you", and love mean live with one all lifetime, love and marriage can not come together, but selection is to select such as a candidate for president of a country, love and marriage have common point is no selection, just do it, love or marry, or love and marry. Know yourself to do what you can handle. in whole of your life is love.

Love is patient. Love is kind. Love is not boastful. Love is great. Love is when you care for someone more than you do yourself. Its when that person's happiness means more to you than anything. Love is knowing you will always have that special feeling each day!

Love is as love does. Love is an act of will -- namely, both an intention and an action. Will also implies choice. We do not have to love. We choose to love.
By stating that it is when a couple falls out of love that they may begin to really love I am also implying that real love does not have its roots in a feeling of love. To the contrary, real love often occurs in a context in which the feeling of love is lacking, when we act lovingly despite the fact that we don't feel loving.---Sheryl Paul
