I used to!  I made up my own rendition of inflammatory words! Here goes! You side-widing, mammy-jamin, mother-lovin, no-good, dirty-rotten, son of a biscuit eating, basketball player! WELL!!! Not knowing that my 7 year old son picked that up and used it at his friends in the cul-de-sac one day while I was in the garage! "I was shocked!!" I put him in time out for the whole day.

No, I don't use bad words.  Bad words are crass, unkind and disrespectful.  Using bad words reflects poorly on a person.  I wish bad words were seen by society as unacceptable.

Unfortunately, yes. Of course, there are plenty of words that were once considered bad but are fairly acceptable now. That helps.

There's no such thing as a "good" or "bad" word; only the 'positive' or 'negative' meanings given to such symbols of language.  One could decide that the 'word' "zishdoobafuddle" meant an unnatural act with a book of religious doctrine and call that a "bad" word.  Not only that, usage and meanings sometimes shift over time.  What used be a vile oath 3,500 years ago is a fairly mild anachronism nowadays.
One can lead a horse to water however, if one holds the horse's head under, that horse will drown.

I think some people can over-do it from time to time. Like i feel cussing is a use when needed, maybe if your angry or upset. But during a normal civil conversation, profanity is not needed.  :)

The context of a word is all that matters. End of story.

If I where to scream out a bad word randomly then yes, they would be annoying. But by no means should they be considered offensive. On the contrary, If I went up to someone and said "Excuse me sir, your face is repulsive". I wouldn't be using any "bad" language by today's standards although what I said should be considered offensive since the context of the statement was meant to offend.

But it rarely so happens this way. If I where to say that phrase to someone randomly on the street they may laugh at me. Where as if I where to say a "bad" word with no context then I might get punched in the face. "Bad" words also have absolutely no consistency whatsoever. You know the word humbug? If you say this word you may get a few raised eyebrows, but no one would get offended. That wasn't the case a few centuries ago.

Can't we just stop all this word blaming, and look past all these curse words for what they are: Just words. Its silly to think that words by themselves have truly harmful meanings. A word like drugs can mean a bad thing when you're talking about meth, but its fine if you're talking a cure for cancer. Its childish at best to think words by themselves are bad.

When you say bad words-it involves more than just cuss words or didn't you know that.  There are so many other bad words out there that is beyond logical reason.  So I am sure yo use bad words not just the common cuss words.

LOL!!!  :-[
When I was little I was a sweet little girl and never said any bad words. Yes, kids I went to school with, they said bad words every now and then and asked me why I didn't cuss. I was shy and never would reply.
Well, about 15 years later I have a potty mouth. Sometimes I will say the 'F' word, or even the phrase "Damn it!" Some people don't consider that to be bad unless you put God in front of it. Anyways, one day, my son and I were in the car. He is 4 years old. We were listening to Nirvana and Kurt Cobain talks in front a song I have recorded in my car. He said the 'F' word. My son said, "Mommy, he said the same word you always say!" I was Shocked too, but felt so guilty that my son was listening to me saying that word and me not knowing it!!  :angry7: I now have to catch my tongue if I have the urge to say that word. I have been sober from the 'F' word for about a month....lol. I have to have that sweet girl image again!!! Haha!!

I do not use curse words either. They exist entirely to create shock and hostility.

No, that's not they exist "entirely" for.

"It can show a desecration or debasement of someone or something, or show strong or intense emotion.  The original meaning of the adjective profane (from Latin pro fano, "in front of" or "before, outside" the fanum, a sanctuary) referred to items not belonging to the church."
