Holloween Or Not? For Christians :)
« on: October 10, 2012, 01:37:14 pm »
This is for Christian advice on how you feel about Holloween. My parents did not let me celebrate the day, and last year my daughter Ruby didn't celebrate it. Now I have Ruby who is 3 and Alicia who is 3 months old. I am thinking maybe this Holiday has taken a different meaning. Instead of looking at it as a dark day it has become a day for candy and dressing up. Do you feel like it should not be celbrated because of its dark attachments? Do you think its just a day for candy and dressing up? Do you think its ok as long as you are not attached to its darker attachments? No argueing here. If you have different opinions I am willing to hear them, but you can say it in a nice way that is not attacking anyone. Ok thanks a lot.
Lord Jesus Christ is the only way for eternal salvation from sins. Jesus loves you.

we're having something at our Church for the kids.  It's like a carnival with candy, games and a moon bounce!  FUN!

First, this thread is posted in FC's off-topic forum, not your personal 'blog' and therefore, you don't get to dictate the form of any responses to it.  Secondly, "All hallows Eve" was always a "pagan" festival, even with latter xtian assimulation attempts.  Thirdly, such assimulations should be familiar to supposedly native american assimulated xtians.

We were in Salem, MA last week and they celebrate it the whole month of October! Maybe some folks could lighten up a little.  :bunny:

No religious supertitions have valid evidence of being "true" since they're based on blind faith alone, (that which lacks evidence).

actually, halloween is really not about scary creepy things, its about celebrating all the saints who lived and are no longer with us, and most people believe our spirits live on long after our physical bodies have failed us.

Friendliness with the world is enmity with God says bible.

Sorry dont have bible with me now so cant quote scripture.Be glad to put it up later if 1 asks for it.

Halloween,Xmas,New Years,Easter are all pagan celebrations and do not originate with TRUE God.

Man goes back to dust and his thoughts perish at death says bible.

The soul that is sinning dies says scripture in Ezekiel

Pompous claims concerning a "true g-d" without evidence are just that; empty.  Celebrating "xmas" and "easter" would be hypocritical of xtians, (or jws).

Halloween,Xmas,New Years,Easter are all pagan celebrations and do not originate with [false] TRUE God.

No, that was a later attempt by the xtian church to assimulate "All hallows eve" into a xtian "all saints day".  The pagan festival preceded such xtian dishonest cultural theft.

As a Born-Again Christian,I don't have much problem with celebrating Halloween. When I was a kid,we dressed up and made Jack O'Lanterns. It's basically just a day for kids to have fun, these days.

I usually spend it watching the old Universal horror films.Frankenstein,Dracula,Etc.Those old classics were very good at showing a moral lesson, and unlike today's horror films, deliver a very positive message.

Google JediJohnnie and May the Force be with you!
