Were you ever in the armed forces?
« on: October 08, 2012, 09:38:09 am »
I went for my army physical in 1969/70 and passed with flying colors.Fortunately president Nixon had a birthday lottery going on and mine fell far enuff down that i didnt get drafted and have to worry about going to the sad and dumb Vietnam war.

I also know some that got dis-honorably discharged and then have the nerve to call others cowards that didnt serve. They dont know the difference between honor or dis-honor.

Yes, my husband was in the Vietnam War.  He was an MP in Okinawa, which he said was almost as bad as being in the war.  He was honorably discharged, and I have NEVER heard him call anyone a coward.  You have no reason to feel badly.  Some people can only feel good about themselves when they knock someone else down.

You'd also posted that you wouldn't serve in the military due to your religious superstitious beliefs.  So which is it, draft-dodger contingency planning or, calling those who did serve in the miliary cowards?

I DONT SEEM TO RECALL ME CALLING MY BELIEFS SUPERSTITIOUS.

You'd know who posted what if you attributed quotes but, you don't.

Now you are quoting me.......PLEASE spare me from that!!!

That's because I correctly attribute who wrote what to what they wrote.  If you don't like it, there is nothing you can do about it except whine ineffectually.

And to those that didnt know any better and had to serve ...

No, it was illegal to dodge the draft and those who objected either tried to dodge it, got drafted anyway as a conscientious objector or got a college deferment.

I was fortunate cos of lottery and didnt know any better then from Gods perspective...but i also knew i wasnt a killer.

You've already posted that you'd kill to defend your own family, (not as a military serviceman) but, wouldn't kill to defend the country your family lives in as a military serviceman.  This isn't a precise quote; would you like your exact words, (which convey this exact sentiment), reposted?  You're not a coward because of not getting drafted, you're a coward for trying to hide behind a religious superstition to justify your cowardly hypocrisy.

I suggest you go back to reviewing Nixons lottery.I passed my physical.....my birthday is 9/2....it fell right in the middle....i never got called.

Draft dodger?NO i didnt go to Canada....i always lived in US.

Would i defend my family?Yes...not with intent to kill but if it happened because i defended them or myself id ask Gods forgivness to understand why.

This country is a modern day Sodom.I pay my taxes i am a law abiding citizen...do i support what the government says about going over to Iraq etc and see lives lost because USA wants to rule the world?NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!

On the other hand do i support when this country is attacked.....NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!2 wrongs dont make a right either.

Jehovah will decide when this manmade rule has gone far enuff.I support God as ruler NOT man.

I oppose false religeon as well.I dont buy into the fact that man decides how God wants to be served.Thats why God gave us the bible.Even with that said many claim to teach it and live by it and dont.

So in some ways we are alike in that respect.....only difference is i have discerned there is a TRUE God that cares about mankind and has explained to us why this world is the way it is....and i would like to live forever in a paradisic peaceful world forever.

I dont want to die!!

And dont think in my own way i dont question Gods ways.I always do and ask for understandings of the whys.

Before i was taught the bible i never could understand why if there was a God why he permitted so much wickedness. And even tho now i know why...i still question it.

No, you support jw religious beliefs instead of opposing such false "religion", (whhich is based upon blind faith, sans valid evidence).

Jesus said his true followers would serve God with spirit and truth and have love among themselves.

Theres no doubt about it it exists in Jehovahs organization.

Something you would have no idea of because of you NOT knowing what the word love means....not to mention im sure you have never stepped foot in a kingdom hall either.

Prove it without resorting to hearsay.

Jesus said ...
One can lead a horse to water however, if one holds the horse's head under, that horse will drown.

Prove it to yourself......definition of love can be found in bible in Corinthians and walk into a kingdom hall.Hope that helps.

Again this post isnt for me to prove anything to you.Im convinced you have to use for God.....but there are others reading and hopefully they discern what bible and Gods organization stand for.
