So sick of the "fundies" word  :P

So am I - it's actually a sarcastic word, and is enjoying being used because it's known we don't like it.  It just shows the disrespect and common courtesy.

No, it isn't and your false characterization of the term "fundie/fundamentalist" is contradicted by the fact that "fundamentalism" was originally coined by its supporters to describe a specific package of theological beliefs that developed into a movement within the Protestant community of the United States in the early part of the 20th century.*  Since it is a term coined by xtian fundies to describe their own fundamentalist 'beliefs', it is not inherently derrogatory, sarcastic or disrepectful.  The continued attempts by xtian fundies to try censoring descriptive terms they don't like has been tedious for some time now.

Ever heard of these terms: "to each his / her own" ; "live and let live." Neither one of us is the JUDGE.

Yes, have you ever heard of the concepts of 'private beliefs' and 'public proselytization'?  Anyone who wishes to hold self-deluding religious beliefs in the privacy of their mind is free to do so.  Once such unsubstantiated 'beliefs' leave the confines of the 'mind' of a 'believer' and spill out into public venues, those who don't hold such blind faith have the option of dissent and opposition.  Since I don't hold religious blind faith, religious prohibitions against 'judging' do not apply to me.  Everyone judges; including xtians, otherwise they wouldn't be judging non-xtians in the manner extensively archived here.

i feel like we are now on unesseary tangent
I agree.  The religious threads are going to stay off track as long as believers and others who enjoy these threads are not allowed to enjoy conversing back and forth.  Opposing views are always expected and received, but the disrespect and intolerance being used constantly, are trying their best to derail these type threads.

I hope you are having a great day.  What a beautiful day outside!  Have a nice weekend!  :)

Thank you premar16, well replied, well replied. Halleleuyah God  ;D

that wasnt the point i was trying to make i think we should be on topic but the fact christians on here not the only ones getting flack in here its seems that non christians are seen as instigators and i am not just talking about falcon i have had christians attack me as well for not sharing there believe we all  need to take responsibilty and stop being mean to each other it gets us no where just people needto stp picking on christians its not classy and its anooying but they have to stop talking to everyone like the fact they have opposite view means they are stupid and trying to destroy the morale fabric of the universe

Thank you premar16, well replied, well replied. Halleleuyah God  ;D

Perhaps that's the best of your abilities to explain a believer's way of thinking without walking in another's mocassins. But unless you've experienced the love of God, you're missing the truth God has to offer you. Don't fret. One day God will rescue you  ;)

Your remarks are offensive because they're presumptively-sanctimonious.

What if their 'religious beliefs' induce them to become "crusaders" who kill and maim 'non-believers'?  Or, use those same religious beliefs to 'justify' witch hunts, instigate inquistions or become "an axe murderer" because they believed someone else was a 'demon'?

Again, you don't need to respect something that is damaging culture and has done terrible acts in the past. You only have to acknowledge and tolerate it, but you also have every right to speak up and say why it's wrong. This is not persecution. This is not cruelty. This would just be a disagreement on principles.

Not being able to answer or counter-argue the opposition doesnot mean you're being persecuted. It would be your own fault for not thinking of a rational answer and such a point should be a wakeup call to actually figuring out what's wrong with your own argument. One might learn something.

Who are you to say that this is what's actually happening. Stop with the feeling you think you can correct another person's feeling's or thought's.  :bootyshake:

Are you speaking to me? If so, I am just respectfully adding my .02 to premar's post. And I constantly see this behavior on this forum-- labelling opposition who simply challenge claims as persecutors.

If I see a possible hole is someone's argument, I will speak up as I am free to do so on this forum. I'm adding to her post. She has every right to respond if she thinks I'm incorrect in my reasonings. You do too!

Exactly so.  It's odd that some of these religious adherents who are complaining about pseudo-"persecution" on a forum seem to gloss over much worse persecution, (crusades, inquisitions, witch hunts, Westboro baptists, etc.).  Such atrocities were commited by other self-declared xtians who held the same religious beliefs as do self-declared xtians do now.

Not being able to answer or counter-argue the opposition does not mean you're being persecuted. It would be your own fault for not thinking of a rational answer and such a point should be a wakeup call to actually figuring out what's wrong with your own argument. One might learn something.

You may have hit on exactly why some religious adherents are advocating a platform for proselytizing baseless beliefs unopposed. They cannot counter dissent effectively so, they want dissent suppressed as if wanting to turn FC into a theocratic dictatorship.  Fortunately, the FC staff has demonstrated the common sense to avoid such a thing.
