Anybody deal with Croup?

I had my youngest in the ER and she was diagnosed with Croup. I thought this was something itty biddy kido's developed.  Was wondering how long to expect this nasty virus to be attacking her little system.  Also other than that weird seal cough did any other symptoms occur for your loved ones?
