What did you think of the new movie "Avengers"?  My husband was frustrated b/c as a child the superheros were never so arrogant and prideful as they showed them here....a little disappointing.

I have not seen the Avengers movie, but I think the movies based on comic heroes should stay true to their comics. Those stories or characters were interesting enough for someone to turn into a movie, so why were the changes necessary?

I think that making the heroes arrogant and prideful is what make it a great movie when they have to work together

I loved the movie, but I didn't know anything about how the characters are in the comic books.

You have to remember part of the reason they were arguing was due to Loki's spear influencing them. Also,it was indeed a staple of Marvel comics to have heroes that eventually put aside their differences to act as a team.Fantastic Four and X-Men were much the same.

When did your husband read comics?  Comic characters have slowly become more flawed over the years, with the exception of Superman.

The Avengers is one of my favorite "comic book" movies so far.  I really like Robert Downey Jr.'s portrayal of Tony Stark/ Iron Man.

Necessary to create drama.  I agree with your husband, comic superheroes were never as arrogant or unwilling to work with each other.

After seeing other translated comic book characters on the big screen I've grown a tolerance for inherited differences between the two. The Avengers characters' chemistry actually didn't bug me as mashing everyone together like this would most likely cause friction anyway.

did not care for it to much. But towards the end of the movie the action really picked up.

My hubby and I both enjoyed it. :) Saw it the theaters and picked up the DVD last might at Walmart. Then watched it when we got home.  Too bad when I got home, I was so tired I fell asleep watching it. hehe

I think the Avengers was a cool movie. I liked when Thor's brother was beating up everybody but, When it came to the hulk, he got smashed. :angry7:
