  A song called "Chasing the Sun" by The Wanted.  I don't know why, I just like it - its peppy and upbeat and it just makes me happy.  It is off the soundtrack to one of the latest "Ice Age" animated movies and now I have heard other stuff by this group and really like their music.

It is hard to pick an actual number one favorite.  So many great songs over the years.  I do like hearing "Do It Again" by Steely Dan, even though it has been played on the radio for so long and so many times.

My favorite song is Anyway by Martina McBride.  It is the first song (in her ten+ year career) she actually wrote.  That's not why I love it.  I first heard this song when she sang it live at CMA's.  That very morning I had decided to give up writing.  I knew it was something I was meant to do but with all the rejection slips I just couldn't take it anymore.  I was sitting alone in the livingroom on the floor crying my eyes out...and then she sang-- "you can chase a dream that seems so out of reach that you know it may not ever come your way, dream it anyway."  Litterally and metaphorically, she lifted me off the floor and put the pen back in my hand.  She was singing to me and to this day I still write, with over a dozen or so poems published.  I love it because it changed my life.  Thank you Martina!

Dolly Parton's "She's an egale when she flies."  I love it because I always felt it represented my life and who I am as an individual.  I think it represents a lot of people.  After all who isn't defined by "she's a sparrow when she's broken, but she's an eagle when she flies"?
