Same Sex Marriage

In Minnesota this year we will be voting on whether or not there should be a change to the constitution stating that Marriage is between a man and a woman.  This morning I got a call from a call bank wondering how I planned on voting.  I told him no I don't think there should be a change to the constitution and that I think gays should be allowed to marry.  Who is it hurting?  And to change the constitution, that's a bit drastic.  I though we were free in this country.  What does everyone else think?

I totally agree with you, I think citizens should be able to make up thier own mind who they marry as you can not help who you fall in love with rather its a man/woman!!! Not our right or thiers to judge anyone or choose for them! If they would worry more about our economy over who is marrying who we wouldnt be in the mess were in!!!

In that case, two ugly people or two stupid people shouldn't mate either, (at least with gays, they don't reproduce ... since heterosexuals produce heteros and gays).

I also agree that a change to the constitution is a bit drastic.  I think gays should be allowed to marry if they want.  I know a lot of people who have kids who shouldn't, but there's no law against that.  If 2 people love each other, isn't that the most important thing?  I'd rather see 2 same sex folks in love than 2 straight people fighting.

As long as they are happy .We have so many other  issues that need addressing(Jobs,economy). Unfortunately, This has  become such a big issue for so long that it should be put to rest even if it means changes the constitution to do so.

I respect your right to hold your own opinion and I respet a person's right to live their life as they see fit.  However, I see marriage as a religious concept as much as a legal one.  So I'm opposed to gay marriage.  I can support civil unions as I see tha soley a legal issue.  That is just one person's opinion.

Is anyone who isn't a xtian an atheist according to a faith-blinded 'sith'?  Never mate with another stupid person, (something your parents failed to bear in mind).  Why is it that 'sith-jonnie' cannot grasp the concept of putting posts on 'ignore' and then actually ignoring them; is it genetic?

It is a bit drastic.  If a man and a man love each other as a woman loves a woman who the heck cares. It's there damn business no one else's and no one else's place to say if they should or shouldn't be allowed to get married or even to adopt children. They have just the same right as straight people in this world!! It's suppose to be a " free country" well, how is that when the state wants to ban same gay marriage? One way or another gay/lesbians will get married even if its not in there own state that they reside because there is places out there that except there rights and don't judge them or take there rights away. I have plenty of gay and lesbian friends who i support 100% because it's there life and if there happy then be it.
