How can anyone feel more secured when anything can happen at any moment just like 9/11? You just have to do your best to protect yourself and prepare for the worse.

The biggest threat is not domestic airlines but incoming international flights.  Nothing TSA does can prevent it and is how shoe and underwear bombers get through. Unless you are going to patrol all foreign air terminals with flights into the country it is a useless exercise.  Private firms meeting industry standards can do the same if not better job.  When terrorists can hijack a plane with box-cutters, I don't think TSA makes a difference.  What exactly have they stopped?

Yes I think we are better protected.  With a terrorist group the idea is to blend in with the masses which makes it very difficult to detect them.  There will always be a threat to a free country. When the threat is acted upon they are exposing themselves.
