Girls: Use both! What one does not cover the other one will.

I use tampons most of the time. Sometimes I use a pantyliner with it just in case.

GIRLS- tampons or pads? or a combination of both
Woa! This topic is a little wierd. Back in the day you could get "Toxic Shock Syndrom" from Tampons, so they took them off the market for just a little while till they made them safer. It matters not whats out there as long as you are comfortable. I cannot use any from this time on as I had cancer of the uterus...always wondered why....

Ehh, the first few days I'll use both and then just use a pad the rest of the time.  Tends to be heavy the first few days so the combination helps save me, after that it's almost non-existent so the pad is just there in case.

Honestly, I'm a tampon only girl. Yes, my father was a hospital administrator at the hospital in Lexington of the Federal Bureau of Prisons and did have patients that did suffer from TSS, but that didn't change the fact that I hated the dirty feeling of depending on a pad only. I will use more absorbent tampons to make sure that I don't have to use pads because they feel dirty to me. I became a tampon woman with my first period when I was thirteen years old.
But given the choice between it all I would rather be pregnant and not have to deal with periods at all.

Pads when you first come on because the flow will be too heavy for tampons.  Use both at night to prevent leakage.  Just tampons are fine after the 2nd day throughout the day.

Is it just me or does anyone else think this topic is gross?  Because really who even cares?   :peace:

No offense.

PADS, but it would seem practical to use both...  :)
Opinion: 1) a view, judgment, or appraisal formed in the mind about a particular matter 2) belief stronger than impression and less strong than positive knowledge
This is the internet, learn to let people have opinions. And don't be so sensitive.  8)

I like tampons, I hate the feeling of a pad. It feels so nasty and uncomfortable. Pads make me feel self-concious. I be feeling like you can see my pad from the back of my pants. I know tampons can give us TSS. But my cycle only last for 2 days and I wear panty-liners for back up.

I like pads better.  I prefer the overnight pads or the pads for overweight women because I feel super protected.  I've tried tampons but I don't like them too much.  I don't feel protected enough.  Plus, pads are much healthier and safer.
