Dr. Seuss Book Club
« on: September 08, 2012, 07:24:01 pm »
Has anyone done this offer? I'm interested in doing it to get some books for my baby that's coming in December but I'm worried about if they keep charging you or if you can get your few books and then cancel before the monthly charges?

There's nowhere on the website that has a policy or anything so does anyone know? Thank you!  :)

I'd bet that they will keep charging you a monthly fee until you cancel it. I did not do this offer, but that's how most of these services make their money. There has to be fine print somewhere, or maybe you can email/call them?

It used to be you could cancel when you wanted to, but the best bet would be to contact their customer support and ask them before you get into it and end up with unwanted books and charges. Dr Seuss' books are always so fun.

i did this book club years ago.  i don't know if its different now, but when i belonged to it, you had to buy so many books, and then you could cancel at any time after that and they would not keep charging you.

Thats good to know CrazyZoo.  I've been curious about this offer myself as I keep my 18 mo old granddaughter while her parents work.  I'd like to get her some different books but don't want to get locked into a prolonged monthly committment.  A few months I could handle but not a year or more.  I may very well give this a try soon.  Thanks for the info.

I did this offer. It is no risk. You pay for the initial books you pick, the FC payment is almost instant and there is no hidden charges. They will send you books in the mail every month. You have X amount of days to review them or just return to sender without opening. I cancelled my subscription with absolutely no hassle.

my first order had 1 damaged book and they sent out 6 more brand new books, so i am giving them to my niece for Christmas.

Usually, how it works is they give you a certain amount of books to buy, after that you can cancel. If you sign up you're supposed to buy the certain amount of books or they'll charge even if you cancel. You may not pay but they still keep it on file that you didn't.

I may have to try this offer.  Giving Dr. Seuss books away as gifts for kids is great.

I don't know how this one works, but usually after the next shipment comes in the mail, you don't open it, write on the package return to sender and then send in the bill saying to cancel and they do. super easy and you get some great books from them.

I just did this and got credited instantly. 4 books for a little under $4. :) And $7 from FC.

In the agreement I read it says you can cancel at anytime with no purchase necessary so I'm gonna cancel in a bit because those 4 books are good enough for me. :)

I thought about doing this offer also for my kids. But, after you get those initial books, I am wondering if you have to buy any more before you are allowed to cancel...?
