Lately I have had problems with the searches not crediting me, even though I have done several searches and the count remains the same.
These have all been different individual topics.
Could you please help me in discovering what is wrong?
Richard
I use the search feature daily with the toolbar and I’ve had this happen to me a few time. Not sure why, I just thought it was my computer cause sometimes my computer just fails at everything lol (I need a new one!). But, when the tool bar does NOT increase the number of searches completed, it can be for multiple reasons:
First, sometimes, even though it doesn’t show the number going up, if you look in your account, you ARE still getting credits for the searches. I’ve had this happen multiple times. I’ve also just opened new windows and once I do that the new window DOES show the number go up.
However, you said you aren’t being credited. So, I’m assuming your problem probably has more to do with the fact that your searches aren’t “qualifying searches.” And your search count isn’t going up because it is purposely not counting your searches. Usually, when you make a search, a pop up comes up at the bottom right of your search page stating if it qualified or not. It has this feature because it tries to stop people from “cheating” and just typing random things into the search engine and not using it for real searches. I think most people have their own way to use the searches to get QUALIFYING searches.
I tend to stick around the SAME category for my daily searches- for example, I had a party this last weekend so I was sure to keep the word “party” in basically all of my 20 searches and then added other things so it didn’t think I was “cheating.” Like: “unique party favors,” “easy party appetizers,” “fast party appetizers,” etc. I do the same thing with hairstyle information or recipes or workouts, etc.
Hopefully some of this will help! Good luck!
