can a old dog learn new tricks

Still waiting for things to change,or have you threw up your hands and said " I guess this is it".well have you opt to try learning to be friends again or starting over . Sometimes we have to go backwards in order to see what we are doing to hurt our relationships maybe in the morning or when you see each other again you might want to look at that person through new eyes then tell them what you want if you think they are worth it.

Why fight when you can just make love.  LOL

I think we can all learn new stuff anytime if we really wish to.  Like how to join in.  Mostly, I think the fear of rejection keeps us from that.  Try something small like the book group at your local library.  It doesn't take more than showing up and listening the first time.  Just smile and stand up straight and people will think that they would like to meet you.  That's what my mom used to always say and it has proven to be true many times.  Just wish I could tell her how right she often was.

6.5 long years together, and i'm only 22.

we have changed in so many ways, and stayed
exactly the same in others.

your other half can be the better AND worst,
i'm convinced of that! i think one of the key
aspects to learning new tricks (or teaching them, rather)
is to take yourself out of context of girlfriend/wife/etc
and be a best friend.

friendship makes for a strong foundation, i think.

whoa this thread couldn't of had better timing for me. it was eerie to read, I'm trying to keep a friendship going; it started as a relationship and it's so tough; but I would be so sad if this said person wasn't in my life anymore
