Do you grow a garden?  What do you grow?

I planted one this year.  It's a bit experimental since I didn't do much prep and started a bit late, but it's been fun, mostly.  I planted tomatoes, watermelon, green peppers, sunflowers and herbs.  The herbs didn't work out, the sunflowers are short, but pretty, the first bell pepper was smaller than a ping pong ball and there's only one melon (so far), but the tomatoes are happily producing.  Not spectacular, but it did dress up the back yard.   :D

I used to plant a garden every year, but due to moving into an apartment and health condition, I was not able to put a garden out.  Sure to miss the fresh produce I got every day from the garden.  I was able to put out a few flowers but due to the drought condition they didn't do so well.  Quess I will get fresh produce from the farmers market.  It is good, but not the same as picking from your own garden.

I don't grow a garden, but I might consider it in the future.  I'm an empty-nester and live alone and haven't felt the need.  Many years ago, someone gave us some tomato plants and we ended up with more than we knew what to do with!  Couldn't give them away because we lived in a small rural town and everybody else had them too.

I have a little window box of daises and a pot full of some purple posies my husband bought me for mother's day. I wish I could have a vegetable garden, but living in an apartment building means I don't have my own lawn. It really aggravates me that the lawn is always full of cigarette butts and other random trash.

I usually do flower gardens, but haven't this year. I recently moved into my own house after divorce and have been having the interior remodeled. The yard does have some existing flower gardens, but I'd like to personalize them to be my own.

this is the first year i've ever planted anything,
so i experimented a little. i did a row of sunflowers
(they're like 7 feet tall! it didn't take them long, either)
some marigolds, some gorgeous orange lilies, and some random
potted plants. i mixed moss roses, mexican heather, and
a few others i can't remember the names of...

they've done well, but i have more ideas i'd like to do
next spring.
[ we all have a place in history. mine is in the clouds. ]

I used to have a very  small garden and I had roses, cucumbers, peppers, and some leafy greens. I loved every moment that I spent in my little garden.

I have never planted a garden but my Mother and Father did when they were living.  I have always had to work back then 10 hr. a day and 6 days aweek.  They had 2 freezers and always had them full.  My Mother canned alot too.  They had a farm and always had beef in freezer.  Hope everyone has a good day and may God bless each of you and keep you safe.

This year is a prep year for me.  I moved some rose bushes the previous owner had in the back of the house to some holes in the front flower beds.  In a few weeks I'll be moving some irises up front to.  I'm in the process of converting the flowerbed they had around the deck to a raised garden bed (the roses and irises were the only plants in the area which is why I'm moving them out).  I'm hoping to have the garden bed complete this fall so come spring I can start planting.

I'm planning to get some berry bushes for the sunny side, herbs in the shaded side, and fruits/veggies in the mostly sunny side.  Will be spending most of the winter planning what I want to try to grow in my first gardening attempt.

This year I tried to compost, but it's not going so well.  I think my problem is the bin is way too dry - hoping I can get some of it composting before winter so I have some of that to add to the new garden bed.

Really looking forward to finally having a garden with fresh food!
