College Internet connection

I have a question for FC staff and members. I will be going to college in a few weeks. I plan on continuing to use FC. Is this possible? The reason I ask is that I know the rules state that FC members cannot share an internet connection. What happens if someone else in the dorm has an FC account. Will we both be kicked?

according to how i understand it if you both have the same ip address running off the same connection yes you will. unless some how you can discuss it with the staff and see what they will say or do for you

You can try it, but it would have to be at your own risk. They are just trying to stop people from creating multiple accounts and doing the same offers on each account.

You could try and go mobile, nobody else will use your phone for FusionCash, I suppose. I know you can log in to websites including FusionCash using a smartphone, I just don't know if it is against FusionCash rules to log in using your phone. If it is ok, then I might try to use this when I'm away from home. Maybe others more knowledgeable would clarify this.

It's going to depend on your dorm's particular configuration.  If each person or room gets their own IP address, it'll probably be OK.  If whole buildings or wings are on the same IP address, it can be problematic.  What you should do is log in from your new dorm connection and open a support ticket to ask about your IP situation.  Make sure you don't click or complete any offers while on the dorm IP until you hear back from us.

Would it be illegal for me to use a VPN with fusioncash. This to me seems like one of the few times when a VPN would be acceptable. I am also going to have my own wireless router hooked up to the port in my room. Please don't close my account. I love the extra money, and I need it.

Basically, unless you can change the server settings, ("configure the client computers to use the default gateway setting on the local network for Internet traffic and a static route on the remote network for VPN-based traffic"), a VPN connection may not satisfy FC's static IP requirement for a distinct user access, (under the "no proxy connections" heading).  Doubtless Admin can clarify this technical point.

tbruff I totally get your frustration. I had a somewhat similar thing happen to me a while back. I was living in an apartment building where everyone had their own internet account through Comcast. The building management had a dispute with Comcast and switched providers. Then, everyone in the building had wireless internet access, but the problem was we were all on the same network, so we all had the same IP address. It was a huge high-rise so there was no way I could know if anyone else in the building was a FusionCash member. I was really frustrated.

We wound up moving anyway so in the end it was a moot point, but I didn't do any offers for a month because I was afraid of losing my account.

The best you can do is like Admin said, once you get settled, open a support ticket. I've opened tickets in the past and they're very prompt about replying.
