I got a cat named Mimi. Very overweight. Also had a big male cat called him Kitty. One time he jumped from the floor right into my chest, good thing I caught him cause I know those nails would have got me.

We've named our pets by their personality.  Had a "Miss Kitty", "Pumpkin" and now have "Dickens".  As a child, I had "Tom" & "Huck"

Had a hamster and my son named him Hammy. Had a fishy and my son named him sergeant. We have a bird and my son has yet to name her but I call her Ms. Peckers. lol

Well-- I have 3 cats-- Fatters, Pixel and Sneakers. Fatters' real name is Holly, but if you call her that, she glares at you and ignores you. My son named her Fatters instead, because when we got the other two she tried to eat all the food and got fat for a while, and the name stuck.

Pixel is named after a cat in Robert Heinlein books-- he is a flame colored tabby with pumpkin eyes, but he doesn't walk through walls like the original-- you just think he does, because he pops up without you noticing. He's BIG-- but not fat.

Sneakers got the name because she is a tiny calico-- at full size she is smaller than a chihuahua-- and since we brought her home, she has always been fascinated with people's sneakers. She sleeps inside my son Ryan's old size 11 wide sneakers he left with me when he went long haul trucking. She goes nuts ovewr sneakers-- sniffs, licks, cuddles-- just sneakers, though. All my cats are weird people with fur

Well we looked up names for our puppy an Australian Shepherd when we got him, Dakota means Friends, but then we found Takota- Friend to all, it was the perfect name!

I found a little sneaky black kitten before.  I gave him to an ex-Marine and named him Sniper.  I liked that.
