Petition to remove jerks from the forum

While I don't dispute first amendment rights, bear in mind that you have none on a privately operated forum like this one.

I'm glad you raised that point as forum participation is voluntary and follows FC guidelines, (which may not coincide with some of the 'guidelines' of its members).

  I just hide the posts of one particular FC member and that way I don't have to deal with it.  I have only been bothered by one person and since I blocked their info all I ever see is that there is a blank post from "hidden user".  Makes my day much more enjoyable.  I don't know why some people have to be total jerks but there is at least one in every group. It would give me  total and complete satisfaction though if they know I blocked them.  And David u r right maybe everyone has the right to spout what they want but the rest of the world should have the right not to have to hear it.

If you are ignoring an FC member, why even mention that, (which would constitute not ignoring, in a passive-aggressive manner of talking about the one being ignored, even if unnamed)?  One could consider such santimonious non-ignoring ignoring comments to be posted by one particularly ignorant "jerk".

As with "jerk", "troll" is in the subjective eye of the beholder.  For instance, posting about not 'feeding trolls' could be considered as 'trolling' itself.

Reading this post turned out to be a wonderful experience.  First I laughed when I read the subject line.  A good thing.  Second, I learned about the "ignore button" - a really good thing!  I have noticed over the course of my participation in the forums that there are some members that just simply like to argue, are demeaning in their approach to others, and state way too many opinions as if they are facts. I love this "ignore button".  I can now just simply save myself the unpleasant experience of reading one of their replies by accident and having it affect my experience in the forum.  Gone forever - so cool! So thanks for your topic. I now have a valuable tool to keep my experience here as happy and fun as possible!

The ignore button is recommended for those who prefer to make unfounded declarations and do not prefer to have them refuted.  These refutations are not, however, "gone forever" when the ignore function is used; they are simply removed from the view of that user.  The "ignored" posts remain on the forums, (this is emphasized in order to clarify the point that an 'ignorer' is not removing ignored posts, they are simply blinding themselves to them).

My guess is that the FC member who claims to ignore the most-ignored FC member by not ignoring them is the most ignorant member of the forums.
