Need a job
« on: August 01, 2012, 01:28:36 pm »
I find myself needing a job, in today's world finding a job is not always the easiest. I have a criminal record from when I was younger, and no drivers license. I live in a smaller city and the busses only run every hour. plus who has money for the bus when they are job hunting? Any one have any good ideas on how to make some fast cash legally??? I appreciate all ideas as of now, thank you!

Is there a temp agency in your area? You may have better chances with them.

Also, is there a Job Center (state run employment center) or similar in your area? Perhaps you can schedule a meeting with someone there who may be able to offer suggestions for your situation.

Best of luck!

Hard for me to keep a job.  Had a great one for Presbyterian Hospital.  Due to my epilepsy I ended up missing about nine days in three months time.  My boss told me to either resign or miss one more day and I would be fired.  So I am really hurting, like the rest of you.  I need more cash, any suggestions please tell me.
Hard for me to have a normal job where I have to be there at a certain time.  Always have seizures at work and stuff so could really use some extra cash.  Not really sure how to earn some online.

You can only go to a job agency if and only if you have a valid I.D. other wise he can't do that.   You can try the paper sometimes their are under the table jobs you can take and have no problems, but my opinion you should try and get your license back and then go from their and most places don't really look at criminal history if your up front and honest in the beginning other wise good luck on finding a job I hope it all works out for you.  Oh and you can go to any county office that provides state assistance and they too will locate a job for you.

Right.  Mow your neighbors lawns, wash cars, paint, walk dogs.  Are you handy, can you fix things?  Lots of elderly people could use help around the house.

I am looking for ways to earn some cash, thinking possibly online.  Not sure where to look, other than here of course.  I have many survey sites that I take part in, mostly all recently.  Do like to find something I can also do.

seems like you get jobs by who you know.someone may tell you of a job opening where they work.just keep asking so if you live near oakland ca i know of a place where my son works a warehouse job. well online jobs are ok but watch out for fakes many of those. also volunteering you can use on your resume i'd keep asking folks .

Odesk, Elance, PeoplePerHour

To start off you might have to do what's basically considered slave labor writing for 2 hours work for 3 bucks or something.  After you've built up a bit of a reputation you can then start charging people more and possibly get a job as a Virtual Assistant that pays by the hour.
