"Comodo Dragon" Browser.......Anyone know much about this?
« on: July 26, 2012, 12:58:28 am »
I'm curious about the "Comodo Dragon" browser, and wondering if anyone knows much/anything about it, or has used it?

I know it's Chromium-based, and that it's supposed to be more secure than Chrome, but that's about it.

I'm contemplating giving it a try, and was looking for input/feedback from anyone, especially:
*Is it as fast as Chrome?
 *User-interface comparable to Chrome?
*Hard-disk space required - less than Chrome?
 *Resource "hog"?

How come it won't play?

Sorry to keep posting replies to my own topic/thread  :-[ .....but I'm trying to keep it near the top of topic list (so it doesn't get lost), hoping that I may get some info, input or feedback.

From what I've read, it takes up less hard drive space, is less of a resource hog, and is slightly faster.  UI appears to a bit different.

Hey thanks for some info on this! That's three "pluses", as far as I'm concerned.

I really like Chrome, mainly because it's fast, and consequently I have a hard time with other browsers anymore, because they're slow in comparison.
But Chrome IS rather a resource hog, and it occupies more hard drive space than I'd like it to.

You haven't heard any feedback from anyone on Comodo Dragon, by any chance (good or bad), have you?

Besides Chrome, the other Chromium browsers I've heard of are Dragon, Rockmelt, and Iron.  I've heard more people praising Dragon than the other two.  I've also heard little negative opinion on Dragon.  If you just want to try it, I would suggest installing Dragon portable on a USB stick.

Awesome! Thanks so much for posting back on this! And did you read my mind?? That's exactly what I was planning to do (the portable version)!!

Thanks again for your input on this - I appreciate it!

I wasn't 100% sure on the answer to this, so I went to wikipedia, and here's what they say:

"Comodo Dragon is a freeware web browser.  It is an implementation of Chromium and is produced by Comodo Group."

Question for you: Are you using the standard version, or the portable version?
