TONSILS!!
« on: July 24, 2012, 08:07:01 am »
So for the past two days my tonsils (or the area around it) have been hurting and it pains me a little to swallow. I also have a very minor sore throat, and it's kinda weird because i feel it mostly only at the tip of my throat, near my tonsils. Is this tonsillitis? I looked it up a little and I'm not sure what causes this and if I should just dismiss my problem and hopefully it'll go away naturally. I haven't detected any stones either, so what is the "problem"?

It could be tonsillitis or strep throat. If it persists or gets worse I'd go to a doctor.

Google is your friend. You can find me there. Can I find you there?

There are lots of things it could be.  You should let a doctor determine what it is, if it persists.  I had my tonsils out when I was 4.  They were causing me to have bad earaches as well.

You should probably go to the DR and get it checked out. There are many things it could be. It's is not always good to try to self diagnois because it could be something serious and you want to be sure you take the right thing so you can begin to feel better. It may not be the tonsils at all, could be something else. DO hope you get to feeling better soon and trust it isn't anything serious.

So sorry you are hurting, I would get it checked out.  I had my tonsils removed as a little girl back in the 50's.  Seemed back then, when you had
a lot of sore throats thats the first thing they did.  Some even had theirs removed and they didnt need to.  But please get it checked.  Hope you feel better soon.

If it keeps bothering you it's best to get it checked out; a sore throat can come from any one of a number of things.  I had to have mine out when I was three because they became infected and I went deaf temporairily.  Hope you feel better soon.  I've been in with a cold all weekend, and it is no fun.   :P

One of my students just went in for an emergency tonsillectomy. He wasn't feeling good when I was tutoring him, so I cancelled the rest of our class. He woke in the middle of the night and having a hard time breathing. They rushed him to the hospital and will come tomorrow if he continues to breaths normally.
I was lying in bed the other night, looking up at the stars, and thinking, "Where in the heck is my roof?"
