Yes, garage sales are great. I find a lot of interesting items that I can put on ebay or craigslist and make a few dollars. I also like to meet my neighbors and get to know them better.  :)

if you find out who is moving or redecorating, that would be a good indication/ opportunity for a garage/ yard sale.
maybe you could suggest to the neighbors on your blockk or in you area to get together, choose a host, and set one up once a month or so.

I haven't been to a garage sale(s) in a long time.  Used to like going, but due to prices of gas around here, really cannot afford to waste the gas.  Also the little towns near me have community garage sales in April and May.  Sometimes you can park in one block and visit 10-20 sales without moving your car.  Thats a great way to so garage saling.  Happy hunting everyone.

I haven't been to a garage sale within the past two years..sniff sniff.  I once found a first edition book which sold for $99 when it first hit local stores and I purchased for $3 and was able to sale 5 years later on Amazon for $700 - Best garage sale memory ever!!!

I have switched to thrift stores. To me itis like a huge organized yard sale and everything has  a price so I do not have to 'track' down someone who has to 'come up' with a price.

I don't really go to garage sales. And I certainly won't have one of my own. Everyone wants stuff for FREE.

I have so much "junk" that I need to get rid of.... I need to have a garage sale instead of going to one!   :-
