What do u think about gender separated classrooms?

How do you feel about this I know a lot of other countries do this and it has worked well. How do you feel about this...??

OMG why would they want to do that? How boring, I know kids will probably get less distracted, but I think that would be so BORED. They will not want to go to school.

not a good idea to separate genders since curiosity will most definitely backfire on whatever the initial separation was trying to prevent

i actually think it would be more harmful than anything. many boys and girls will do their best to impress the opposite sex with how they act in class. while some will act out, i think it would make others work harder. not only that, they would just be thinking about each other and ignoring the lesson anyway if you separated them. finally, especially with boys a little bit of feminine charm in the room can quiet down the antics boys get into when left alone.

I am all for it but, in our area, only the private schools ($10,000.00 and up a year in tuition) do it.  My daughter qualified for scholarships and grants to go in but she decided that she wanted to go to a school where there would be more social interaction with both sexes.  We picked our neighborhood because of the wonderful schools so we would have done fine either way.  My son is talking about going to the private school because all of the other kids on his Lacrosse team go to that school and the meighborhood high school has employed cliques in putting together their LAX team.

I am for it. The kids needs to be in environment to learn. chool is about learning. They also need to implement no cells in the schools.

Sometimes your own gender can be more cruel than the opposite. I was teased extensively in school mostly by other girls. I hardly had any friends but I usually got along better with guys than girls. I'm not sure why schools would try to separate classes by gender. If you can't go to school or work with the opposite gender how are you ever going to work and talk with them in real life. I think it is better to try and create understanding between genders not separate them.

Boys and girls learn differently. If the gender separated classes are adjusted for that, maybe some good can come out of it.

I think its good because it will be less distracting and be in an environment to learn and they learn differently too

it just makes them more vulnerable to explore.

I think thats ok, however, there should be times where kids mingle, such as lunch or recess. Thats important for their normal relationship development.
