Is this rude or what?
« on: July 20, 2012, 09:22:28 am »
Okay, so I'm glad people are donating their things, but I go to the local baby pantry in my town twice a month and some of the things people donate aren't washed, they have like food stuck to them...it's like, HELLO, can you at least wash it before you donate?  You might as well save yourself a trip and toss it in the garbage because I don't want to take it home in that condition!

I do think they should wash items before they donate or try to have someone else give or resale it to someone else! Would be nicer if they did!

It would be nice if they washed items before donating them, but at least they took the time to donate them. I think just throwing things away is worse.

Yes and no; well, I think as long as they are donating, it won't be as bad as not donating anything at all. I agree that the food parts stuck in clothing is rude, people should have it cleaned at least.

I think whoever is in charge to distribute the donations should be in charge that items are in good condition. Rich people will not take the time to wash them before donating. They will wash only if they keep and use again.

Giving things away that you don't want anymore should not be in dirty condition. Think about yourself would you like to receive something that's dirty.

Where I live the places that take donations only take them if they are clean.

I had a neighbor that would throw out perfectly good clothes and household items.  I reclaimed some, cleaned them up and passed them on.  I can't stand waste.  The landfills take up enough space we need to think of future generations.   :peace:

That why you always wash things you bring home from different place, you can never be sure they are real clean.

It is better to donate than to throw clothes in the trash even if they can't or won't wash them. Hopefully someone is willing to clean them and bring use to an otherwise thrown away product.

I always wash before I donate! That is just lazziness.  I made ok money so my son was with new close until he was 4T and I quit working and I had to shop at thrift stores and I would not buy anything that would look like that and that was years ago.  But I have noticed some mothers are lazy my sister in law didn't want to hold her children to feed so they didn't get breast feed but a creak in there necks to keep sucking that bottle where ever she would propted it up at.

At least they made the attempt to donate it. They probably didn;t have the money to wash it!

Most of the time it is just laziness.  I don't know....If it has stains, I pretty much throw them away.  I hear ya!
