Piven Plays the Obama Card
« on: March 30, 2009, 04:52:46 pm »
No one believed him before, so now Jeremy Piven is dragging Barack Obama into his war over the "mercury poisoning" excuse he used to get out of a Broadway play a few months ago.

With today's announcement that there will be an arbitration hearing over the matter in June, Piven's peeps just released a statement saying:

"Mr. Piven is looking forward to testifying in Arbitration along with his doctors so that the truth comes out about the very serious health risks caused by Mercury exposure, which the Obama administration has recently described as the world's gravest chemical problem."

Well, if Obama thinks it's a problem -- people have no choice but to believe him now, right?

I love how people whine about Obama. Uh, YES, he hasn't been in office long, & he inherited the country in a TERRIBLE situation. Give me a break... what do you think McCain would have been doing that would be so much better, was it him? I wish people would give the current administration a *chance* before being so quick to criticize. Americans are so instant-gratification.

I also think this post is silly, citing something that may have been said by the "Obama administration" isn't really "dragging Obama into it."

There are several things that Obama said or "promised" prior to the election but now has done the exact opposite.

Since he's serving the same agenda for his "boss" as many other presidents ever since under the Jeffersonian era, we shouldn't look up to Obama any more differently than Bush or the previous presidents (but after JFK, the last real president.)

For the most part, Obama has done exactly as he promised. He is moving as quickly as he can to clean up the goddawful mess his predecessors (Reagan, Bush 1, Clinton, and Bush 2) created, along with their corporate buddies. The left whines that he's not getting out of Iraq fast enough, and that his stimulus program isn't radical enough. The right whines that he's spending too much money on those who need help instead of continuing to shovel it all into rich people's pockets. Grow up, people!!

Polls show a majority of Americans now believe the country is back on the right path.  Obama hasn't even been in office 3 months, while BushCo had 8 years to destroy the country.  Obama's done some things I do not agree with at all, but for the most part I'm pleased.

If you want to whine, go listen to Limbaugh or Glenn Beck or someone like that  :P

While I may not agree with some of Obama's policies, I really do think he's trying (and succeeding, for the most part) to but us back on the right path. At least he turned over a lot of the Bush Administration's policies.
And for all of the people who are complaining about him not pulling troops out of Iraq, a little technicality-- he is, he's just sending them to Afghanistan instead.

I don't consider mercury poisoning to be the "world's gravest chemical problem." Jeremy Piven is a drama queen. No offense to his fans -- but I am not one of them.

There is a pretty cool website out there that is tracking all of Obama's campaign promises.  Just google it, I don't think I'm allowed to post website urls on here.  It's pretty darn accurate, and for the record I voted for Bob Barr.

What is he doing to the country that hasn't already been done for the past 20 years?  What trying to clean up the mess?
