How to have enough money

it is so hard even having enough to stay ahead, how can someone have enough for extra things in life as well, and to live comfortably?

I used to think there would be a day when I would have "enough money". So far that hasn't happened. What I've realized is that it is all a state of mind. I have learned to live within my means. I have a very stressful but well paying job I'd like to get the heck out of, but have to pay for all the things I "thought" I needed to be happy. I also have a part time job and a part time business. I have also learned that money and stuff do no buy happiness. Wish you the best!

People just have to be smart with money! As easy as it is to blame society for a lot of things, there's things people can do too....ie. do you really need to spend $20 on a dinner? Can you get just a good meal for less? Half my gross income per month goes toward rent/loans, and whatever I don't need to spend on food or other necessities I try to put away....granted I treat myself once a while, and things come up.....slowly but surely though I'm making my money grow (and FC does help a little!)

The only way to have a little extra is to take on a part time job or do more on the internet. It isn't easy anymore in the world but if a person wants to put in the extra time they can have a little extra money. Good luck to everyone.

I have a MBA with an emphasis in finance and marketing, maybe I can help:

Make a list of all the things you spend money on in a month.  What things can be sacrificed so that you can start building your savings toward a home, dream vehicle, vacation, etc.?  Sacrifice pays off.  Allow yourself a small amount of spending money so you won't feel deprived. 

For items you can sacrifice, such as utility bills and gas for your vehicle, research ways to make the amounts spent less expensive, such as a shortcut/carpool to work or insullating your home so you don't have to run the air so much so that the energy bill is lower.

Find ways to increase the income you have coming in (such as working overtime) and look into alternative ways to bring in more money. I'm interested in donating plasma myself and will visit the center to get more information as soon as the kids go back to school.

Finally, take advantage of resources available to you.  The more money you keep in the household the better.

You have to be conscious of what your needs are and what your wants are and where your money is going.  You probably don't realize the money you are wasting on frivolous things.  You have to make it a priority to save.  When you get paid set aside an amount even if it's just $10 a month you need to start somewhere.  Make it automatic.  If you have direct deposit you can have your employer or bank send the money to a separate account.
