Well one thing about our new move, we are real close to the volunteer Fire Department. Going into this summer, that damn siren goes off and can scare the beejezus out of you. It sounds like the old air raid sirens. But thats cool.

The fire department in my area is within 1/2 mile. Eventually after living nearby for awhile you will get used to it.

This one is across the street and the siren sounds like an old air raid siren. But it is cool. Don't have far to go if I need paramedics or a fire put out.

I live by a busy intersection with a canyon that sees a lot of accidents so I hear sirens all the time. July 3rd, at about 6:30 in the morning, there was a lot of smoke in the air and in the street. Turns out someone started a grass fire 2 blocks away from my house so the sirens were going back and forth for like 3 hours until they could put it out.

Wow, sounds scary regarding the grass fire. I know how they can get out of control. Just the sparks flying around can land and start a fire in a different area. Glad they got it out.

We just moved from a place that was right next to a busy highway. The fire dept was right down the road and the police station was a few miles away. The noise was driving us all crazy! It was a mix of cars, trucks, motorcycles, police sirens, fire truck sirens, ambulance sirens all the time. It barely calmed down at night. Now we live in a nice quiet neighborhood with the occasional airplane or helicopter.

Yeah it was a scary thing to wake up to. It burned some where between 10-12 acres by an apartment complex. But the only damage to property done were a few scorched backyards and fences. Worse thing is they think someone intentionally started it.

I am beginnig to think that there is some concerted effort not saying (terri....st), effort going on to use up our resources, but that is just me and my conspiracy mind type of thingy.
