Although I haven't played as many RPG games as when I was much younger, I'll look at some of the more recent ones to see what isn't yet available for developmental inspiration, (being a game designer, I don't want to duplicate the efforts of others).
One can lead a horse to water however, if one holds the horse's head under, that horse will drown.

I don't play as many RPGs as I used to. I am more of an MMORPG/RTS/Survival Horror kinda girl. I played quite a bit of FF back in the day though.

I've looked into a few MMORPGs lately, (tried the BattleStar Galactica one, for instance), while in the process of assisting to delevop an "Honorverse" game under author David Weber's auspices.  I don't know if you're familiar with his Honor Harrington sci-fi series or not however, he's a stickler for staying within cannon in regards to what he wants to see in a game based on his series.

My gf used to play WoW until I noted an obscure observation that "WoW" is "Mom" upside-down; something that Dad apparently enjoyed.

There's an inherent flaw in every MMORPG that persists from their inception until today.  I won't mention what that flaw is because, having you guess is more fun.

I enjoy the Final Fantasy series, but haven't played the more recent ones on the console. I also enjoy the Elder Scroll series, Suikoden (hoping for another installment) and Kingdom Hearts.

Lmao ! I should actually login to WOW and make some potions and flasks for tonights raid. I am not good at guessing games.  :'( Even if I know the answer when someone asks me it flies out of my head as soon as I am asked. It drives me crazy!

I hate the Sims.  I guess I just don't like playing "god" to people's boring lives...real or imaginary.

One RPG game that I just started playing here recently is Conquest of thrones, it helps to take the edge off the day and helps me to relax.

Sims is not an RPG. You are not going on some kind of adventure.

what is rpg?
RPG = Role play games
They are games where you play as a character, and go on a journey/adventure. You could level up (meaning you get stronger) after multiple battles, and accumulate a type of currency you could use to purchase items such as weapons.
