I didn't have all that much trouble because I had the flu and then I couldn't inhale because I coughed so gradually I just smoked less and less since I never went back to inhaling.  Eventually I just quit without really thinking about it.  Once in awhile I would like to have a cigarette but that passes.

You can try prayer. God will keep you from smoking.

That's good, since smoking doesn't do a body good.

That is tricky! I quit when my son was born cold turckey did real good until 10 years latter when I wanted to get married and everyone was against it.  The stress just put me over the edge and I started again and been smoking for 10 years  :(  I want to quit but its hard when everyone in my family smokes and  extened family as well.  Far as I know nothing works.  Stress is diffently a hard one to stay away from.

It is a tough one. But it's all mind over matter. In my experience, finding something to do to take up your time will deter you from going back to smoking.

Ex: Developing a new hobby. I chose collecting coins!

OR if you enjoy smoking very much and feel hopeless about quitting, try e cigs. You can buy the liquid (flavor) that contain various amounts of nicotine and ween yourself down to ZERO PERCENT nicotine. Ecigs taste just fine!

Anyway, good luck! Quitting smoking just plain sucks--but you can do it!

try keeping pictures around that show the bad effects of smoking.
for example, a lung from a smoker, a person that has had mouth cancer, etc

Do stuff that interest you, keeping your mind off smoking will help you stop.

I quit 4.5 years ago after smoking for more than 10 years. The only thing that worked for me was exercising. I went to the gym A LOT.

My mom needed to keep her hands busy when she decided to quit smoking. So maybe you should try to develop a hobby, like knitting or woodworking, that will keep your hands busy.

Money saved: $135
