i am just totall confused on this subject, i believe a marriage is meant for man and woman , yet i believe all people have a right to happiness so i guess let every one get married they will find out its not all its cracked up to be. lol might as well start discussing divorce between same sex because soon there will be a 50% rate of them also.

Personally, it doesn't bother me. If two people are in love with each other and want to get married, provided it's two people of an appropriate age, I say let them get married. It's not my place, nor is it anyone else's to deny a couple in love the opportunity of marriage. If a man and another man are in love, let them be. If a woman and another woman are in love, let them be. (Again, so long as the two individuals are of an appropriate age. For example, a 13 year old and a 30 year old is just disgusting.) You can't stop someone from loving whom they choose, regardless of what your personal beliefs may be. Not everyone in this world holds the exact same beliefs as everyone else, we shouldn't be squabbling about something so trivial when there are greater issues that should be taking precedence. Just my opinion, I know there are loads of people who will disagree and a lot of people will spout the same argument time & again of why it's "wrong" and that's fine. I have my opinion, and they have theirs.  :)

I don't get the big deal...I mean its not like the majority of people value marriage like they use to, which is why divorce rates are so high. I would never try stop someone from marrying someone they love. You don't have to watch them sleep together, it's no ones business.

Naturally, that's not an attempt to control others in order to get them to kiss your grits, aye?

I used to be somewhat against it and more so didn't really care.  But after thinking about medical benefits and other things that a spouse is entitled to it makes me look differently at it.  So for reasons like that, I am for it.

I grew up with the belief that marriage is between a man and a woman, my mother is catholic and she freaked the other day that I asked her "mom, what would you do if I was a lesbian?" she was outraged (I'm still questioning my sexuality) and didn't want to look at me for the rest of the day. I think that all these negative views on gay marriage and GAY IN GENERAL pretty much just come from social/cultural/religious constructs, and given that this country has been very "under god" minded ever since the pilgrims, everything and anything gets political very VERY QUICKLY. My views = people should have the right to love, love is not something a stupid piece of paper can redeem legitimate it's only because religious factors play a huge role in society.

i personally believe that marriage is between a man and a woman. I have nothing against gay relationships or someone who is gay(i have several gay friends). I always have said that if God created marriage to be between the same sex, the Bible would have said that He created Adam and Steve instead of Adam and Eve. I have heard claims that the Bible has gay relationships in it. I have not once seen that. Please dont judge me on what I believe. I have just as much right as a christian to state my beliefs as a gay couple has to be gay.

I believe that people should live life as they see fit, be they man and woman, man and man or woman and woman.  There is nothing to say who you are to fall in love with.  And as for the Bible, you should remember that the Bible was written by men and their interpretation of how things should be in the world.  You have to know that there has always been prejudices in the world and it will never end.  From what I know and see men and women getting together is to procreate.  The divorce rate is astounding.  So I see nothing that great about men and women being married and I am heterosexual.

They'd have the same option to be happily or, unhappily married as any other couple though.

I believe gay marriage is an abomination to God and think its not right.

Wonderful ... my position is that unreasoned religious beliefs are merely unsubstantiated opinion and as such, without merit.

"The fundamentalists, by 'knowing' the answers before they start, and then forcing nature into the straitjacket of
their discredited preconceptions, lie outside the domain of science --or any honest intellectual inquiry."
-- Stephen J. Gould

"You can safely say that you have made g-d in your own image when it turns out that God hates all the same people you do."
-- Reverend Robert Cromey
