It's best to cook certain food from scratch.  I know how much ingredient and seasoning to add to my cooking.

I like to make my own juices from fresh fruits and vegetables.  I am always suprised at how good certain fruits and vegetables taste when juiced together.  I usually do not like beets but raw beet juice is surprisingly good mixed with apple juice.

I cook as much as I can from scratch, or half way scratch.  There are a lot of base things that I doctor up that are fabulous.  It seems to be healthier, I know how much salt or sugar is in things I make!  I had a bread making machine that I wore out, so now I just do it without.  I did love waking up in the morning to smell a fresh cinnamon loaf baking.  I love crock pots, I can put all my ingredients in in the morning and come home to a house smelling fantastic and a great meal almost all ready.  I have several crocks so I can put on all the courses before I head out in the morning.

I make certain things from my own recipe and my family likes it.  There is a lot of things I like from scratch but don't know how to make, like homemade bread, I love that!  I also make homade stuffed bell peppers and my family likes them.

I like to cook from scratch because I control the ingredients I put in my food. Sometimes, I will cheat and use jarred or canned goods, but I try to add my own spices.

I love cooking from scratch, sometimes I don't do it because it takes a bit longer, but I prefer it because it is much healthier.
