The political class has decided that cheap labor for their business pals and handouts in exchange for votes trumps their oath of office and the protection of the American worker.  It is sickening, but an unfortunate fact of life.  Politicians selling out Americans for money and votes.

Ain't that the truth! Whatever happened to "We the People?" Oh, yeah, politicians are deaf. I'm so upset with the political scene right now, especially when it comes to the subject of ILLEGALS! Not immigration, if it's done through the proper channels. Very upset that the government doesn't follow their own laws! It is crippling this country. SICKENING!

I think this has always existed.  I remember traveling and seeing bus loads of illegals being shipped in to help harvest farms, pick cotton.  Then when it was over many would leave.  Why leave when there's such a great system to take advantage? Many small business depends on cheap labor...lol.  The average American citizen is unwilling to take an minimum wage job.

If they want to live here do it the right way just like everyone else.

I highly concur. When you go to another country and expect to live there, it's important to assimilate into that culture.

I'm very interested in where you heard these claims. I'm not skeptical of this, but I just want to read more of where you heard this (while hoping it's not some extremist source). If you can, please share!

Won't the gov't fine a small business for hiring illegals? I thought they get a 10,000$ fine per illegal. I heard this a while back, but if I'm wrong, please inform me.

"Sec. 274A of the Immigration and Nationality Act (INA) and 8 U.S.C. 1324a, makes it unlawful for any person knowingly to hire, recruit or refer for a fee any alien not authorized to work. An employer that violates these laws can face penalties of:

· $250 to $2,000 fine for each unauthorized individual;

· $2,000 to $5,000 for each employee if the employer has previously been in violation; or

· $3,000 to $10,000 for each individual if the employer was subject to more than one cease and desist order.

The employer could also be fined $100 to $1,000 for each individual “paperwork” violation.
The criminal penalties for a pattern and practice violation can be up to $3,000 for each unauthorized alien, imprisonment up to six months, or both."

One can lead a horse to water however, if one holds the horse's head under, that horse will drown.

No I don't feel that immigration is effecting our economy, they a just part of the picture.  We had to do a paper on this in econ and learn quite a lot about our wonderful government.

Yes, I definitely feel that immigration is hurting our economy. Our politicans sell out for votes, instead of working to help the citizens of this, what was once a great country.  If y6ou want to make it in this country any more you need to speak spanish and have the correct sir name. I live in a border town and I see it everyday. My husband has to travel out of state to work because it is next to impossible for a non-hispanic speaking American to get a job, that will support a family in this town. :BangHead:

Yeah, I use to work for a hospital that did nothing but cater to illegal immigrants; doctors and staff including the on site pharmacist all get paid, but it's the tax payers who fit the bill.  The whole town was eventually enveloped and I'm pretty sure I was the last person who spoke English in the entire town before I moved away.  The town also looked like a sleezy run down third world country by the time I left.   :P

The government should fine for hiring illegals.  But, I personally know three small business owners and 95% of their staff is illegal.  If the government did raids just on the hotel/restaurant industry across the nation some of the well established franchises would be ashamed.  The three small business owners have stated that it's very difficult to keep employees on a week to week basis and hire most through agencies, day labor.

Do you know if there's a way to find out what company has actually received any fines?  How much is collected in fines each year?

I'm not sure whether or not such information is available under FOIA, (Freedom of Information Act), in that regard.

"In late May, ICE released a substantial portion of its internal guidance on administrative fines in civil worksite enforcement proceedings following a demand letter from the American Immigration Lawyers Association and the Legal Action Center threatening Freedom of Information Act litigation."

Are you also aware of the massive tax refunds illegals receive?  This should be enough to anger every American.  Over 4.2 billion given away to illegals in 2010 (buying votes is sure getting damned expensive isn't it).  This video will tell it better than I could:  http://www.wthr.com/video?clipId=7054149&topvideocatno=103348&autostart=true

Wow thanks for sharing that information. I didn't know they received huge tax funds.

I see pictures like these on Facebook sometimes.  But it's the absolute truth.  This is part of the reason why America is falling apart.
