I have bought prepaid Gift cards - which are really prepaid credit cards (by Visa) and my brother in law took 3 months to use them (after christmas) and they charged a $5 a month service fee. I will never purchase those again, if I buy a gift card I will purchase one to a specific store. I thought it would be convenient with the Visa card this way he could purchase anywhere that takes Visa, I found out that they were ripping you off. I have a personal Visa card and I will always use that instead of a Prepaid Card.

I'll stick with my debit card so I can only spend money that I have and don't have to worry about paying off a bill

I prefer to only spend money I actually have. Credit cards only make other people rich and can ruin your credit if you can't be responsible. I have even been thinking of switching to only carrying around cash, too, but I lose money too often for that

I stray from regular credit cards. I have seen what they can do to people. I can't stand prepaid cards either--unless I have something specific I want to do with them and won't wind up leaving money on it.

I like my debit card......i always check to make sure i have enough so i dont over draft

Recently, I use my debit card more often.  Usually, I carry my credit card with me and use.
