I've been chosen as one of the 7 students to participate it the Vancouver IB Conference this summer.

6 Slc8 students were chosen to go and I'm the only SLC 4 who was chosen.

But the conference is in June, and I need to make $2000 by then.

how about a dsomewhat a party ? maybe a car wash ? or even a sports theme olyimpics? walkathon? there are so many ways i hope some i choose is helpful to you

One thing you can do that won't earn much quickly but could help is put containers around town with a sign reading cans for _______ (Fill in your name) Add a short description as to who you are and what the cause is for.  I hope you have friends and family to help you.  You can delegate tasks than.  Your best bet is to get as many ideas that you can and ask others to help you organize all of those ideas.  Utilize the concepts that aren't going to cost anything to get you started.

I was chosen as a youth delegate to Moscow for a foreign exchange conference when I was 16.  I also wondered how I would get the 2700$ to go.  I went around to local businesses and asked for donations or money in exchange for services.  I was easily able to obtain donations from larger companies in exchange for some interesting advertising options.  For many of the smaller businesses I did small tasks, mostly janitorial in nature.  The company I worked for at the time (McD's) offered to match whatever I saved or made through donation.  I was able to attend that conference and also a future one in Damascus, Syria (one I will never forget).  Just put your mind and foot to the pedal and you will get there

Yeah, thing is. I really can't get out of home to do any of that. My dad's a little strict about doing things that'll let me meet strangers.

I can barely get out for extracurricular events.

As for lawn mowing and rummage sales. LOLOLOL My dad yells at me for doing such things when i don't do it for the family.

Sor for stuff like this, I'm complete alone. No parental support.

If things like a school car wash are out, (are they?), then how about she negotiate with her dad regarding a separate, supplementary 'allowance' for completing jobs around the house not covered by any existing allowance.  If there is no existing allowance, then she could ask her dad for his ideas from a stronger negotiating position, (vis-a-vis` extra-curriclular school activities).  If none of these work, she could ask dad for a significant donation to make of for the restrictions he imposed on his daughter.=, (don't say that last bit directly though).

That's a bummer alright.  It's up to you to accept or decline any money he wants to donate to the fund-raising event, (regardless of the whys and wherefors behind it; the event would benefit from the donation).  Also keep in mind that things change once a person reaches the age of majority and isn't required to remain in 'lock-down' anymore.

No problem. Keep on keeping on and try to recall that, when you're younger time may seem to drag on and on.  Once you start getting older and older, it will seem to fly on by so fast that, if you don't stop and look around every once in awhile, you could miss it, (`ala paraphrasing 'Ferris Bueller' aka Matt Broderick).
