It's funny how different people are, because to me Austin is unbearable. I was there this past weekend. It's fun for a little bit, but I was so glad to be getting out and going home!

The last time I was in Austin I discovered that some Texans have a sense of humor as dry as that area can get during the year.  We'd stopped to eat dinner at a restaurant near the river and there were already three types of (unlabeled) salsa on the table as we sat down.  My girlfriend asked the waiter about them and he pointed to the first, (white-labeled bottle), and said, "that one's mild enough for tourists, you should try it."  She raised an eyebrow at that comment and then glanced at the second bottle, (red label), and he remarked, "that one's a little spicier and some brave folks will try it from time to time."  Gesturing at the third bottle, (green label), he warned, "that one's just for Texans 'cause if you spilt it on that wooden table, it'd eat clean through."

We tried a little of the red salsa with dinner.

One can lead a horse to water however, if one holds the horse's head under, that horse will drown.

All of the culture and diversity made you uncomfortable?

No, I don't mind culture and diversity. In fact, most of my closest friends are of a different culture than me. Mostly it's just city life versus rural life. I much prefer the quiet, small areas over the hustle and bustle. I'm not much of a people person anyway because I get so sick of society's stupidity as a whole. I mean that in a very broad sense, but still that's the honest truth.

I find that I am unable to disagree with you there, "mh874892", (as an aside, your 'nym recalls "species 8472" from StarTrek Voyager).
