That's how husband and I met, online, and it was long distance relationship, but I guess we managed to work things out though it was NOT easy.

It worked for me.  I met a girl in a distant city and our meetings always involved travel.  We eventually got married and have been married for almost 6 years now.

Communication is the key in any relationship but especially long distance. It may be difficult but long distance relationships do work.

I have a couple of friends doing this. If both people are super committed, then it can work, but very hard. Not something I ever wanted to have to deal with.

Its tough. bottomline.  your phone is what keeps you connected at most of the times, its tough, but its worth it if both of you are full for it.

Long distance relationships can work as long as the two of you can communicate. It can get hard at time but you just have to trust the other person

i also think they can work as long as u are comited to the relationship and it is real love my parents did it my family is in the milatry and i have seen more last then fail

Life has too many challenges as it is, I wouldn't recommend a long distance relationship to any one. Not saying they don't work but the statistics show that they don't.

I think that it is difficult enough to maintain face to face relationships much less long distance relationships.  People are a species filled with love of self and adapting to others is a task.  I think that the more conditions that you throw into a relationship-the more difficult it is to maintain that relationship.  Long distance between two people is probably one of the most difficult to maintain because of the temptations that arise.  The physical need is not met. Sure you can call each other, video chat, e-mail, text and talk on the phone but these cursory systems of communication can not replace the physical touch. I don't believe that absence makes the heart grow fonder.

Well they usually do not work out i had a long distance relationship got pregnant and his dad move 85 miles away from us, we could only talk on the phone because neither one of us had cars so after i had the baby in july of 2009 and aftermy grandma died i moved down here where he was at and that was in feburary of 2010 i  miss her so much but back to what on hand it's hard to have long distance relationships very hard there no since in it unless one make the effort to move where the other ones at and in my case i made the decision to move where he was at. all my family is in columbus, ohio and it's been three years since i seen them but i will see them soon.  hope this help you out?    abby
