I just started watching a 13 month old and a 5 year old. This is the first time I am watching someone else's kids on a permanent basis. I think it's going fine so far. I am concerned about their blanket fixations. My gosh neither of them will go to sleep without their blankets and they carry them around the house too.

God bless all of you who can stand to be around mouthy, screaming kids all day.  That would drive me crazy.

Well I`m Back To Fulltime Daycare ,Hope I Can Handle It In Summer.

Be glad that you can physically do it. I wish I still could. Between my lupus and hypermobility I am very limited in my activities. I was a nanny and a mother for the majority of my life and had to stop picking up children out of fear of dropping them. I decided it was better not to be holding a child when my joint dislocations happen. It would be very bad for both of us if I was.

Do you need certification to do that?

To be a state funded child care provider you do need some sort of certification, but just to watch your sisters kids or the neighbor kids on the weekend I would say no. I just depends on the situation. As far as beating my head against a brick no certification is needed lol.

I could use a babysitter.... got any openings?  Not for my kids, but for me!  My girlfriend tells me I act like a baby from time-to-time.  Maybe I'll grow up when I hit my 50's huh?!

I've done it before. Maybe I should take it up again because I need some serious cash right about now.

i second that!
my mom ran a small daycare out of our house when
i was a kid. it was only about 4 other kids besides my
brother and i, but she loved it. she had waaay more
patience than i ever will!

more power to you  :notworthy:

childcare can be very rewarding if you like working with kids! They can be a lot of fun if you are willing to work with them and be their friend. Will this way they know that you are willing to be their friends and to do things that. That they need to have to know that they are safe and  so when they see you coming they know it is some friend.
