Job Market In Your Area?
« on: April 21, 2012, 11:27:20 am »
How is the job market in you area? Here not so good. You do see alot of WANTED sign but you go in and ask about the job you have to go home and fill it out on line. Then if you are lucky they call you in for a interview and tell you they will call you back in a few days and never do.

The job market here is starting to look a little better.  State-wide the unemployment rate dropped .1% last month.  Also--I drive by the state job center (read: unemployment office) every day on my way to work--and I don't see as many cars there as I used to.  I know that isn't very scientific, but it is encouraging.

I saw on CBS news last night that the best job spot in the USA is Elkton Nevada. People are working at the gold mines and the average pay is $80,000 a year if you work 12 hour shifts.

You can find a job here in Montana (no one else has said what job market they're in, so I will ;) ), but the pay is not so good no matter what the job is. Alot of two income households are finding that they need to become 3 income households in order to survive (a second job for one of the income earners). When you have kids that really sucks, because you never get to see them. I worked in North Dakota in the oil fields (driving a semi hauling water) for about 6 months last year. the pay was great (I made between 2-4 thousand every week I was there), but I didn't have benefits, and I was only home for a week out of every five. I have since found a good job (a lot less pay) back home, and now my wife is going on interviews trying to get a higher paying job than she has right now---I think everyone can get a job, it just depends on whether or not they want to do that job for that pay.

The job market here is not horrible some people are finding jobs. At least more are finding jobs here than before. The economy is getting better it's a little slow moving though. It's happening, if only it could move a little faster. :BangHead: :BangHead: :BangHead:
